Left our moorings under a threatening sky and shared the first two locks with another two boats that were rafted together. We then moored in Northwich as it began to rain very heavily. This is the Blog of Narrowboat Escapology and that of her crew/owners Paul and Elaine. Monday, 27 September 2010. Final Weeks Cruise of 2010 - Part 6. Saturday 25th September 2010 - Fradley Junction to Great Haywood. Up early and ready to set away at 7.30am. A clear blue sky with sunshine but a biting cold wind! Bacon sandwiches en route after Woodend Lock and then we stopped briefly at Rugeley to visit Morrisons. We then continued up to Great Haywood to watch the Grand Prix Qualifiers. Set away back home.

An early start from home on Saturday in order to get to Great Haywood in good time for a good cleaning and preparation session before our first proper cruise of the year next weekend. The devastating scene of our local shops on fire! I even changed the drivebelt on the power pack although I did cut my thumb! We travelled back home Sunday afternoon.
