If you’ve managed to read all the way through to the end, then i thank you from the bottom, bottom, bottom, bottom-est of my heart. Seeing as how i finished the story before the month has ended, i will be going back and editing my chapters for the remainder of this session. I’m going to give it some time though and reread everything. so, give me a day or so and i’ll get back to you good people. August 13, 2008 / 5:01 pm.

One chapter a day. the undeniables: novel project. Mornings always made things seem less dramatic, especially on days like this when the sun shined high above in the blue sky, sans clouds, bold and prominent. It prompted you to not disappoint it, to not let anything make it less brilliant. Outside on his porch, Arvin sat on his steps, smoking. He wore the same clothes from last night and looked as if he hadn’t been to bed yet. I sat down next to him, catching my breath. I wasn’t his first. Arvi...We̵...

One chapter a day. the undeniables: novel project. While I sat in the kitchen and picked away at the dinner that was made for me, my parents arrived home. They were bantering away. My dad harping on one of the singers who he thinks has gotten too old and sounds it, my mother defending the singer, proclaiming him a legend in his own right. It was comforting to hear them. My mother joined me in the kitchen, wondering why I was still up. It’s so late, why are you eating? I forgot to eat dinner. She shook he...

The call from Jenny’s parents came late the next evening. Jenny’s father informed Veasna that they would be pleased to have him for a son-in-law. Veasna thanked them and then Jenny’s mother came on the line and asked him to come see them all again the next weekend to begin making the arrangements. Am I a man an American girl would want to marry? After all of his planning and waiting, doubt crept into his mind. Suddenly this seemed like much more of a risk than he had originally imagined.

The young man tucked his pack of Marlboro Reds neatly into his front shirt pocket. He smoothed back his hair. Today would be a big day, he decided, today I am going to meet the woman I will marry. At the house on Cherry Street, Jenny glared into the mirror as her mother chattered at her while expertly inserting bobby pins into her hair. She was creating some sort of ridiculous masterpiece of twists in order to impress the young man whom Jenny would meet that day. 8220;There’s nothing wrong with you!

For some reason, Jenny had not expected him to be so young, or so kind looking. She had expected the man she had allowed her parents to court on her behalf to be older, harsher, not this soft-spoken man barely into his thirties. Her parents seemed to approve of him. They shut the door behind Veasna and turned to Jenny. What did you think? 8220;He seems nice enough.” Jenny attempted unsuccessfully to sound enthused. 8220;So I guess it’s settled? When will you give him the good news? The deal is done.

One chapter a day. the undeniables: novel project. Run, run, run. I had a dream once I was running right on the edge of the earth. It was as if I was the one rotating it on it’s axis, except faster. But then I would get exhausted and wanted to stop. I couldn’t, of course, or the planet would be destroyed. Life would stop, freeze, and we would have to start all over from scratch. Halt, halt, halt. You’re currently reading “24.,” an entry on cherry colored. August 6, 2008 / 7:09 pm. Jump to comment form.

One chapter a day. the undeniables: novel project. I looked at her carefully. What she had become to me was difficult to describe. What she had taken from me, what she has given in return. It was easier for Ling, to come and go, to love and leave. I wanted it to be easier for me. I wanted to leave Ling, but I didn’t want her to leave me. Conundrum. How’d you get in? Your parents. They were just leaving. Well, I’m sure they’re happy you showed up to babysit. Do what you want. I hate when people say that.

One chapter a day. the undeniables: novel project. Maybe I should go. I offered. Is that what you want? She seemed to be teasing me. I want to tell you something. Ling’s voice came into focus, interrupting my train of thought. Tell me. I slid back into bed beside her, finding the spot of comfort again in the crook of her neck. Don’t laugh. She put her arms around me, warm, moist from the summer humidity. No promises. I’m a compulsive laugher. That’s not funny. You look pretty good for being deathly ill&#...
