the Lansfords: June 2014

Sunday, June 22, 2014. Crew was certainly bummed to be done with preschool but we have jumped into Summer with both feet, trying to get a better schedule in place with the two boys. Thankfully they are both easy going enough that we can mix things up a bit, experiment, without epic meltdowns. Our summer reading program has a science theme. Here is Crew putting up his bubble. He loves to read and mark off his chart. Walker remains a perfect champ and is always ready for the next adventure. I am so gratefu...

Tuesday, December 17, 2013. Crew's preschool Christmas program was so much fun to attend and watch. Each class learned their own songs, in addition to the songs they sung with the other three classes. Crew's class theme was Christmas trees; so their "costumes" and songs revolved around that theme. We were also excited that the program fell within Mimi's trip to Utah to help with the baby. Have I mentioned it is nearly impossible to get my lil guy to look at the camera? Friday, August 16, 2013. Adventures in the Treasure State. A couple busy summers have kept us from a visit to the family cabin in Swam Lake, MT. Cole and I were determined to make it happen this year. The drive is long but the relaxing, fun and family time is always worth it. As an extra bonus, we were joined by several members of the extended family who hadn't seen Crew since he was about 6 months. Crew and my Cousin Carson enjoying the fruits of Huckleberry Days. My mom and Aunt Lori soaking some rays.

Monday, November 5, 2012. Crew was such a blast this year. He totally caught on to the concept of Halloween. Every pumpkin, ghost or skeleton he saw was met with squeals of excitement and comments to the effect of "Spooky Halloween, right, Mommy? Luckily, a visit to the party store for a train whistle = crisis averted. I had fun taking photos of him during a church Halloween party, on his way to a daycare party and then of course, the big night. Sporting his loot from the party. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

Monday, July 8, 2013. So here's how it happens. My sister in law gets awarded a fancy Gracie award for Best Sports Anchor of the year, her school decides to fly her to NYC to receive the award in person and the rest of us Lansford ladies get lucky enough to tag along for an extended girls weekend. Recipe for perfection I say! We took on the Big Apple for five days so instead of boring you with the details of our daily schedule, the highlights by category are below. Brooklyn Bridge against cityscape.

Monday, April 22, 2013. We are officially in the throes of potty training at the Lansford house. An episode at the library last week put me over the edge and convinced me that we need to bite the bullet and get our little one trained. We are only three days in, and have the "hiccup" of Crew being at the sitters for half of the day now, but I remain resolute that we can get this done. Our accidents keep falling in between regularly scheduled times on the potty. Any suggestions, fellow Moms? Saturday morni...

Tuesday, October 15, 2013. We are still alive. Just suffering from too much to do and a dead desktop housing all of our photos. The hiatus has served as a reminder that as much as these personal blogs are "so five years ago," I still love them and feel such an attachment to this little piece of the Internet that is ours for the updating. After a late lunch, we squeezed in some putt putt and games. Such a fun day with my favorite boys! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Tiling a bathroom room.

Monday, December 31, 2012. Updating after a 2-month absence is going to come slow and will probably be motivated by the posts I am least overwhelmed to write. :). Christmas break gave Crew and I a few days home just the two of us. And I must say the time has been just as magical, busy and tiring as I had ever imagined "stay at home" mommyhood to be. Only the tiniest part of me was sad at how little he needed my help. And of course, what is a morning of sledding without a cup of coco to top things off?

Wednesday, January 9, 2013. Birthday Calendar and Important Dates Binder. Our ward's January Additional Relief Society Meeting was wonderfully simple and a lot of fun. We made Annual Birthday Calendars and Date Organizers. Prior to the activity we purchased a printable from mycomputerismycavas.com. We asked each sister to bring her own binder, and then provided the printed page for each month, page protectors, pens to fill in important dates and treats to fuel the chatter.
