Bloom Where You're Planted. Asymp; Leave a comment. The dough will rise over the edge of the tin and mushroom out. It looks lovely. Anyway, so here is the recipe I followed for the Babka (Paska). It tastes best fresh and warm with butter melted on it, but it is just as scrumptious later warmed up in the microwave with said butter. Oz (1 cake) compressed yeast or 1 tablespoon (1 envelope) dry yeast. Cup warm water (100 degrees). 4 tablespoons unsalted butter. 1 teaspoon vanilla extract. Larr; Previous post.

Bloom Where You're Planted. This is a glossary of the Georgian terms used in my blog. New terms will be added as needed. Keipi- joyous feast, type of supra. Kelekhi- somber feast, type of supra. Kvacarakhi- plum sauce boiled for 6 hours. Lobiani- bean paste bread. Marshutka- mini bus that is inter and intra city. Satsivi- meat (usually chicken, can be fish) in a walnut, cilantro and spice sauce. Please note that these spellings are my best interpretation of the Georgian script. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Teaching English in Georgia one letter at a time. It takes a village. May 14, 2012. Really, it does sometimes. I don’t mean this phrase condescendingly, by any means. It may be one of those things you have to see to understand. At least in Chkhorotsku (or Khabume), nothing gets done without at least everyone being involved in some way–big or small. And these observations are really just from my village and not in any of the larger cities I’ve been to in Georgia. And a Happy Birthday it was. March 13, 2012.

Right So, some friends and I decided to take an extended holiday to Armenia mostly to Yerevan. Essentially, I had 2 days in the village before I departed for Tbilisi once again. We took the overnight train from Zugdidi to Tbilisi on the night of the 7. Finally, we all make it through the border and begin our journey to Yerevan.
