Unveiled.: May 2010

This past weekend we had my two cousins, Abby and Jeremiah. They came over on Thursday afternoon and stayed until Saturday morning. They are a lot. Jeremiah is 5 years old and Abby is 8 years old. We went to Busiek. We’ve been going to Busiek a lot lately because our dog, Bo, just learned how to swim! We took the kids and the dog to Busiek so that they could see him swim. :) They were having so much fun that they didn’t want to leave! We rode around town and listened to loud music. Then we came home ...

Grace Says Smile: Recap!
http://gracesayssmile.blogspot.com/2011/02/recap.html
Sunday, February 13, 2011. After a short hiatus post-return to the US, I've decided that it's time to reinstate the blog. But I can't do that without a little overview of some of what's been going on the past two months. A few days after returning from my time abroad, I threw a Christmas party and reunited with all of my friends! Crossed an item off of my list of life goals and rode on Matt's motorcycle! Was in attendance, as were ten or so other of my loves not pictured but equally adored. My family put...

Grace Says Smile: We got game.
http://gracesayssmile.blogspot.com/2011/02/we-got-game.html
Wednesday, February 23, 2011. Or at least someone does. Last night a friend was in town with his college baseball team taking on a local university. Obviously, we locals just had to the game to offer our support. And despite the fact that we froze our butts off, it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. :P. Anna and me bein' groupies. Aaron is sporting my scarf like a ballaaa. Anna was clearly STOKED. Ignore that my top lip is MIA. The lovely Municipal Stadium. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Monday, November 29, 2010. Fam in Florence: part two. The next day, the parents and I took off on a road trip. Props to my dad for managing to maneuver a motor vehicle in Florence - a feat which I will never even attempt. First, we went to the beautiful little town of San Gimignano; then, we were off to Siena! Our pretty little rental car! Taking in the sites. ;]. My dad and I climbed that bell tower! The view from the top. We made it. ;]. View of the surrounding area from the hill. On our way out. :].

Tuesday, September 28, 2010. The Greek Odyssey: part three. You are joining a story already in progress. We have just landed at Piraeus and have disembarked from the ferry. Then it was straight to Mycenae. Ah, the Mycenean civilization. One of the major cultures of ancient Greece. You know all that jazz about Olympus and the gods and whatnot? Yeah, they originated that. Which is pretty cool. I wish I had been able to capture the rest of the mountainside so that it was evident how large this structure is!

Nineteen years, and counting. | the smallest words we cannot say.
https://smallestwords.wordpress.com/2009/04/25/eighteen-years-and-counting
The smallest words we cannot say. Nineteen years, and counting. April 25, 2009. I can’t put my eighteenth year into words, maybe because they are only words. But perhaps I shouldn’t try. My eighteenth year is ending, and with that, as much as it may be a cliche, I can only say that I lost myself, and I found myself. And I’m much happier with the me I found, than the me I lost. One Response to “Nineteen years, and counting.”. April 27, 2009 at 2:03 am. I’m proud of you, Bonnie! Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Grace Says Smile: December 2010

Thursday, December 23, 2010. Final thoughts on Florence. I've been at home a few days now and between unpacking, reunions, parties, and - let's be real - sleeping, I have barely had any time to reflect on my time abroad, save for the fact that I start nearly every other sentence with "When I was in Italy."! About a month ago, though, I was nominated for some sort of award called the Coluccio Salutati. I pictured myself not truly amongst but rather isolated from Florentines. I would fall victim to my ...

Grace Says Smile: October 2010

Thursday, October 21, 2010. Cinque Terre: part two. The five coastal downs of Cinque Terre (which literally means "five grounds") are linked together by a series of trails. You can walk the entire length of the coast from the northernmost town to the southernmost town in about five hours. We weren't that. Ambitious, but we did make quite a day of it all! So sweet. And the views? I also came across this graffiti, which I could not help but photograph. I'm so homesick for my San Francisco Giants! The view ...
