Sunday, February 7, 2010. Ethan apologizes for not being able to formally greet his family and friends. He asks for a little more patience before his debut appearance. The doctors at NICU advise Ethan to stay several more weeks for a full recovery. Until then, Ethan wants to thank everyone who has been so kind and generous to think of him. We can't thank everyone enough for all their thoughts and prayers for little Ethan! Ethan is now weighing a little over 4 lbs (1814 grams). Week 4: Almost home.

Wednesday, February 3, 2010. Week 3: He's got no tubes. Beginning of week three. All tubes are out! The only thing attached to him is something called a peripherally inserted central catheter line (PICC). That's right. Imagine an IV inserted into the heel of your foot, then getting threaded along your veins until it reaches your heart. It's frightening, but kinda cool and assuring that he's getting all the necessary fluids with every. Look ma, no tubes! That's not all. Ethan's starting to eat now!

House of Hurst
Field Trip to the Pumpkin Patch. I went with Ethan's Kindergarten class to Wild Things Farm. It was lots of fun.and a little muddy! Ethan turned 6 on September 12th. He celebrated at school with Ninja Turtle cookies. And picked Texas Roadhouse for dinner. He got to sit on the saddle while the staff sang Happy Birthday to him. We celebrated with family and friends. It was a Ninja Turtle gymnastics party! First Day of Kindergarten. Family Vacation, Destination Beach. Waiting on the airplane.
