He presented on these at the University of Washington in Seattle in 1997, the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis in 1999 and at the York University in Toronto, Canada in 2000 for the Oromo Studies Association (OSA). Our name derives from “Himmacha” which means “God has a calling for you” in Oromiffa. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization partnering with Kotobe Mekane Yesus church in the Yerer region of Ethiopia to provide basic literacy and child sponsorships to children in the Horn of Africa. We are a non-profit organization partnering with others in Ethiopia (Yerer region) to provide basic literacy and child sponsorships to children in the Horn of Africa. Sponsoring a a child in the Yerer region of Ethiopia is $360 annually which is less than a dollar a day! Contact us with questions.
