The mountains are my respite, my home of refuge. Blinking away the sunrise. Listening to the wind blow. Angels with dirty faces face. Another day in limbo. Beckoning fire from Heaven. Everything seems so stone-cold. Beating the drums of change. Another day in limbo. This is a disjointed post. It is a post in limbo. I hope that you can fi...I don...

Monthly Archives: August 2009. August 28, 2009 · 6:45 am. A Brief Post for my Poor, Neglected Blog. Kinda comes with the territory, I guess. Anyway, if it catches your fancy, go listen to some of my tunes at Berklee. Hopefully it will suffice while this blog slowly descends into futility and obscurity (not really, just being dramatic for kicks). Happy Summer, everyone! EDIT: Everyone, this is my 150th post! Happy birthday, blog! Listen To My Music! The Road Less Traveled. The World Is My Oyster.

Never, Never, Never Stop Dancing! March 12, 2008. Asheville–writing a book in an old, cold house! Pray for us to be inspired! Just one day left and we have to go face the real world of home, people, dogs, messes, hugs and kisses and meal times yet again! But in my heart, I will have one more precious memory of a crazy week of artists together playing at this creative work unified in harmony and sweet friendship and deep affection. Never, Never, Never Stop Dancing! April 28, 2008. I so enjoyed talking and getting to know many of you precious Canadian moms in Hamilton last weekend. I hope now that you are home from the conference, your minds are still fresh with ideas, input and encouragement for your home! Sometimes when I idealize away from home and then return, I have to work a little to remember just what it was I was thinking about implementing when I got home in the midst of the fray. There is a mysterious point when your chil...

Never, Never, Never Stop Dancing! May 14, 2008. Give the gift of giving gifts! This is what I found in our living room when I awakened on Sunday morning and walked down our stairs. Fresh coffee, candle-light, blueberry smoothies with whip cream, fresh blackberry almond muffins with jam and clotted cream, flowers, a pot of roses and cards. Though my father was a man of character and generous in many ways, as a depression child, he had always been frugal and the phrase we remember from birthdays and Father...

Never, Never, Never Stop Dancing! April 15, 2008. In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.- Genesis 1:1. In Romans 1: 20, we read that, “His invisible attributes, His eternal power and His divine nature” have been clearly seen through what was made, so that people are without excuse when they don’t believe in Him. As we were reading this verse this week, a lesson about His design lived itself out before us! Now to all of you wonderful moms–I would like to abuse you a little! You can hear ...

Monday, June 28, 2010. A greeting and introduction. It’s hard to know how to introduce myself, to decide what about me is so vital that you must know it to understand what I write, and what is periphery, a distraction. But with time against me (and my own conviction that as a newly-invited author to this community I owe you all an introduction sooner rather than later), I’ll keep this short. So that is who I am. I’m looking forward to being a part of this far-flung community. From ali : census work.

Eucharist Matters
The Eucharist is the "source and summit" of our Christian lives and spirituality. Whatever may compromise It's centralness, "matters.". Wednesday, May 17, 2017. The Women They Don't Mention. A German Catholic Priest who has failed in keeping in vows has a bishop who can shepherd the fallen priest's soul back into the fold. The fold is where vows are kept. We all fail and have many virtues to try to build up in our souls, so we can't judge his failings, but we can judge the overall picture. May 17, 2017.

January 1, 2017. In political affairs, 2016 was dominated by the double shock of Brexit and Trump, and we shall all live with the legacy of those two decisions for years to come. ISIS and Aleppo have also been a dark cloud of horror hanging over global affairs, with an increasingly confident Putin hovering in the background, and we certainly haven’t heard the last of them either. Monday, June 15, 2009. Crystal Cathedral and Saddleback Church. So, we were able to attend their worship services (the Cathedral in the morning and Saddleback in the afternoon), and celebrate the Eucharist with each. I also had the priveledge of having an extended conversation with an Elder at the Cathedral and a Greeter at Saddleback, and had a pretty good tour of both campuses. What follows are the observations my wife and I made concerning each church. The whole thing smacked a little of a big scam, b...
