Emsp; Releases. 1 March 2015: Third single - Wake Up Call / Stop Me In My Tracks. Wake Up Call by European Radio on iTunes. 1 September 2014: Second single - Call Waiting / Moon. Call Waiting: Ever had a conversation in your head so many times it slips into your dreams and you can't remember whether you had it? This may not end well. Moon: on the surface, kooky sci-fi, easy listening pop about living on the moon. Best not scratch too deep. View Call Waiting on YouTube. Take a trip to the beach.

December 2012 – alpha seven’s musings mostly on music
http://blogs.sofacom.co.uk/2012/12
Alpha seven’s musings mostly on music. Pete’s blog about music and stuff (aka alpha seven). A new thing for the studio – WEM Copicat. If you’re not familiar with the WEM Copicat – it’s the tape echo machine invented by Charlie Watkins at the end of the 1950s. Watkins Electric Music still make them – but they seem to be without the tape bit these days. Here’s loads of info. COPICAT – looks good anyway. But why would you want one? December 16, 2012. Alpha seven’s musings mostly on music. Pete’s blog about music and stuff (aka alpha seven). Songwriting – a useful resource. I stumbled across a great set of articles by Sam Inglis about songwriting the other day, published in Sound on Sound magazine back in the early noughties. I read SOS from time to time so I can’t believe I managed to miss this. If you haven’t seen them, worth a look. I think it’s the most useful thing I’ve read on the subject! March 20, 2014. November 2012 – alpha seven’s musings mostly on music

Alpha seven’s musings mostly on music. Pete’s blog about music and stuff (aka alpha seven). New Alpha Seven release in the new year. There will be a new Alpha Seven release shortly. Unlike previous Sofacom recordings, this won’t be available in a physical form – it’s going to be for download only – except for a handful of promotional demo CDs in advance of the launch. In the meantime – I need your help. Where do you find about and hear new music? ITunes / MySpace / Facebook / BBC 6 music?

Alpha seven’s musings mostly on music. Pete’s blog about music and stuff (aka alpha seven). Stuff about alpha seven and ambient collaborations. The return of vinyl (as in the Izotope plugin). Funny how reading a random email can lead to three hours experimenting…. Recently redid their vinyl plugin to support 64 bit systems, meaning you can bring a little bit of crackle, hum and vinyl-esque distortion to your music projects. And it’s free. I used to have it, so I downloaded it to try out. The StepFilter w...

Alpha seven’s musings mostly on music. Pete’s blog about music and stuff (aka alpha seven). All that doesn’t fit in elsewhere. Creating album artwork for Great TV Masts of the UK with Pixelmator. One of the interesting things about running your own record label is the amount of stuff you try doing yourself, like laying out album covers. I did look at using Adobe Creative Cloud stuff – but it looked like an awful lot to learn. So I revisited Pixelmator, which I already had and it was a revelation. I wante...
Apple – rudderless and rich? – alpha seven’s musings mostly on music
http://blogs.sofacom.co.uk/2015/03/11/apple-rudderless-and-rich
Alpha seven’s musings mostly on music. Pete’s blog about music and stuff (aka alpha seven). Apple – rudderless and rich? I made the switch from a Windows XP Dell laptop to a Macbook Pro over 7 years ago – and that Mac is still going strong, tho’ I did put more RAM and an SSD in it. Oh and had to replace the GPU but Apple did that for free. I like the non-Retina Macbook Pros – you could unscrew the base and upgrade bits. Or liked them anyway – there’s just the 13 inch model left. Is it just me?
February 2013 – alpha seven’s musings mostly on music
http://blogs.sofacom.co.uk/2013/02
Alpha seven’s musings mostly on music. Pete’s blog about music and stuff (aka alpha seven). I’m doing a MOOC on songwriting. I’ve decided to take part in a Massive Online Open Course on Songwriting – I mean I’ll be a student on it obviously! I write the odd song, it takes forever and I’m never quite happy with it – so I figured this might help. If you fancy trying it – details are here: https:/ www.coursera.org/course/songwriting. Alpha seven’s musings mostly on music. Pete’s blog about music and stuff (aka alpha seven). Ergon GP1-S Biokork grips on a Brompton. Around March 2012 I replaced the DREADFUL FOAM GRIPS that came with the Brompton. They may suit some people but I really didn’t like them. I blogged about it at the time and then at some point deleted the post by accident – since they’ve worked so well I thought I’d revisit it. The old foam split ready to remove. Shiny – foam and glue removed. Ergon grips in place.

Alpha seven’s musings mostly on music. Pete’s blog about music and stuff (aka alpha seven). Great Lift Journeys of Norwich and Future radio. I spoke with Di on the breakfast show – think it went quite well, in that I enjoyed it. I was also impressed by the station’s web site – the interview is up there already. Impressive operation and interesting how well integrated the radio and internet sides seem. If you’d like to hear it –. Http:/ futureradio.co.uk/futureplayer/mixcloudplayer/446. March 17, 2015.
