Jamie's Europe Trip Blog. Tuesday, December 29. We are in Venice now! Our hotel is really cool! It's right beside a canal, and just a few minutes walk from the grand canal! The grand canal is SO huge! St marks square is really close to our hotel as well. St Marks has got these big platform thingies that you can walk across when it's high tide and the square is completely flooded. Today we went to some museums in Pizza San Marco, then we looked in some shops. I bought a cool mini gondola driver's hat.

Jamie's Europe Trip Blog. Tuesday, December 22. Today we left Italy for a few hours and went to the Vatican museums (in Vatican, not Italy). We saw lots of really cool bits of art, especially the walls and ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. We saw lots of exhibitions, among my favourites were the Egyptiaon art exhibition, the really long hallway with roman and Greek statues and the modern Christian art exhibition. We wanted to get to Lowther Castle to visit the Brocklebank tombstone (that's Peter's mother's father's father's father's parents! Janet and Peters Europe Trip Blog. Wednesday, January 13, 2010. In London, briefly. Yes, we've left the continent, and are now in the UK. On the way to the Chunnel, someone commented that France all looks the same (because of the snow everywhere). Well, when we got to England, it looked the same as France, only with extra snow! We've looked at some of the things we can do when we come back to London on the 24th and booked a "flight" on the London Eye, but tomorrow we head to Edinbrrrrrrrr!

Janet and Peters Europe Trip Blog. Monday, February 8, 2010. We made it back in one piece, all luggage intact and in the right place at the right time, and we didn't even have much jet-lag! Thursday was our last day in London, and we had half the day free before we needed to head for Heathrow, so we went to Buckingham Palace for the Changing of the Guard. We got there a bit late, and had a bit of trouble seeing anything very clearly, which was a shame. The final London excitement was a trip to Harrod's!
