Come Back to Texas: August 2011
http://comebacktexas.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Come Back to Texas. Thursday, August 18, 2011. Here's the wrap of the major May events! On May 2nd, Southwest acquired AirTran and we celebrated in true SWA fashion. Despite the rain, we headed out to the Dallas maintenance hanger for speeches, photo-ops, and of course, decorated sugar cookies! Not long after, we headed to the deck to watch the first AirTran plane takeoff from Love Field. 10 Days in Peru! Graffiti of baseball decor. At first, it appears harmless. Until you see this. A reminder of how fla...

Come Back to Texas: March 2013
http://comebacktexas.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Come Back to Texas. Tuesday, March 19, 2013. Old Places, New Sights. Like most frequent travelers, there are destinations I visit more than others. Some seem to have a once-a-year minimum requirement. But even though these places have "must-dos" for every visit (after all there must be a reason I frequent them, right? I always enjoy finding new things to see and do. In each of the first two months of the year I have taken such trips. In fact, I would say both trips comprised of more new than old. There i...

Come Back to Texas. Thursday, May 26, 2011. America's Pastime. All Workday Long. Just in time for Opening Day (although clearly I'm a little late blogging about it) the Shamrocks. Came down and it's been baseball fever around my work space ever since. Favorite NL and AL Team Pennants. Daily Braves and Rangers box scores. Jerseys and AL Team Pennants. Come Back to Texas: March 2012
http://comebacktexas.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Come Back to Texas. Tuesday, March 27, 2012. In the past week, I've finished two books which have been in the "to be read" pile for a while. Once finished I decided I should have worked harder to read them sooner. Both were great and I'd highly recommend:. Over five years ago, my friend Jamie wrote a blog post in which she listed the Thursday Next. Could prove helpful. While I don't want to give away the story, I will tease you with the one tidbit: Thursday, the main protagonist. This other book wasn't q...

Come Back to Texas: April 2011
http://comebacktexas.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Come Back to Texas. Saturday, April 30, 2011. New City, BBQ, and America's Largest Home. But this year, the end of March provided the perfect opportunity: springish weather, March 16th service start to the new SWA city of Greenville, SC (just over an hour drive, instead of the 4 hours from Raleigh), and best of all - half price admission! We, of course, made a u-turn and stopped to capture the image. Front view of the house - not as large as the one we'd see the next day, but very interesting nonetheless...

Come Back to Texas. Thursday, March 31, 2011. Spring Training and Florida Sun. 2 SWA Cities, 2 Spring Training games, 2 much FUN! Tampa: Tigers @ Blue Jays for Spring Training Opening Day. This was what I consider to be an (almost) perfect day:. Walking on the beach in the morning. Afternoon Spring Training Game. The addition of a chocolate malt would have topped this day, but after the incredible Coconut Shrimp I was way too full! Orlando: Mets @ Braves. Thursday, March 17, 2011.

Come Back to Texas. Wednesday, February 15, 2012. The Latest in Cubicle Decor. Almost as soon as my Gingerbread house decorations came down after Christmas, my co-workers and passers-by began to ask “What holiday comes next….Are you decorating for Valentines? Before they started to ask, I didn’t really know and just figured I would do something if I had time or found some inspiration. For some reason, Valentines has not consistently made the list of holidays for which I have work decorations. Theme in ha...
