Vangi Uribe's Stroke Blog. We say a cat has nine lives and I think as a stroke survivor humans have multiple lives. How many people get to remake themselves? I’ll give you a concrete example: I always said my flat butt was inherited (and not from my mother’s side). Now Matt tells me that our butt is a result of our exercise not just hereditary. So I can exercise more–just what I want to do. What if there is something about us that we want to change? Is that second going to make that much difference?

Our beloved black lab Shadow passed today at the age 16. She had a mass cell tumor on her hind haunch growing for months. She declined very rapidly in the past week or so not being able to get up or even stand on Wednesday. Our good friend Tess had to even come over and carry her into the house from the backyard.
