Having learnt our lesson from last year when everyone was on holiday, we decided to celebrate Rhys's 7th Birthday whilst school was still in session in mid June. Rhys had decided after Jack's birthday party that he wanted to have a Harry Potter birthday party at home. Having decided this would be a nice idea I have to admit to embarking on the party planning with as much enthusiasm as planning our wedding! I was in my element. Lego Harry Potter cake.

10 December, 2012. The Dinosaur Place - April 21st 2012. We went to visit The Dinosaur Place on the far East of Connecticut for some serious dino hunting. Really cool place with life size dinosaur models, play parks and a mini volcano. Run for your life! The boys trying their Harry Potter spells on the dino. 10 December, 2012. Rhys - TV Celebrity and Wise Ass - April 27th 2012. On Friday April 27th Tom and Rhys headed off to sleep on the USS Intrepid. Docked in Manhattan with his fellow Tiger Cubs from his elementary school. It was the same day as the Space Shuttle Enterprise landed in New York before it would make its journey down the Hudson River to its final resting place on the deck of USS Intrepid later in 2012. The interview in progress. CBS2 weather presenter meets his match in Rhys.

03 October, 2011. First week back in USA and the weather deteriorated from the lovely sunny 80's to Hurricane / Tropical Storm Irene within a few days. We heard that Irene was on its way and so Tom set about preparing for the likely power outage that would follow Irene. His preparations included purchasing 2 cooked chickens! The cause of our early power outage was a tree down across the road. No power and no way out of our cul-de-sac! The aftermath in the garden didn't look too bad though.

12 June, 2011. Seaworld and Epcot - May 20th. We left mid afternoon and headed back to the hotel for a rest before we decided to take in 3 rides at Epcot. We got on the bus to Epcot and went on the Finding Nemo ride, then queued for ages for the Soarin' ride - which was amazing - we were suspended in the air watching a large screen as we flew across California. On landing Jack announced "I hate hated that"! Very exciting stuff for us three, but true to form Jack announced "I hate hate hated that Mummy"!
