Sarah's Pensieve: Christmas Vacation
http://saepensieve.blogspot.com/2009/01/christmas-vacation.html
January 06, 2009. I'm back from a wonderful Christmas vacation, and am busy trying to catch up on unpacking, laundry, and sorting mail- but I'm afraid that if I don't record highlights of my trip to Washington DC, I'll forget all the best parts! It was wonderful to see family- two of my brothers, my sister, and their families were there- as well as extended family and friends. Here are a few of my favorite things. To great applause and agreement.). Games of Boggle, Bananagrams, Life Stories, and Hiss.

Sarah's Pensieve: Your Soul Will Want Seconds...
http://saepensieve.blogspot.com/2010/01/your-soul-will-want-seconds.html
January 18, 2010. Your Soul Will Want Seconds. Since I didn't have school today, I decided to try my hand at a new recipe for dinner. I found a great new (to me) sauce at my favorite health food store. Listen to the promise on the package and tell me if you could have resisted it: "Good Korma simmer sauce. Meditating on dinner? Now I'm ready to jump back into school again. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). 7/18/11 The Phoenix Dance, by Dia Calhoun. 7/17/11 A Tale of Two Castles, by Gail Carson Levine.

Sarah's Pensieve: Out with the old...
http://saepensieve.blogspot.com/2009/12/out-with-old.html
December 14, 2009. Out with the old. On the bright side, I find that microwaves now are much, much fancier than they were years ago- with digital clock and rotating plate and memory for favorite settings. I'm feeling quite overwhelmed, and am glad for an instruction book that is written in relatively simple terms, as I'm not terribly talented when it comes to working various and assorted electronic items. Oh, and a Merry Christmas to you as well! Aaron and Emily Dockter. December 14, 2009 at 10:26 PM.

Sarah's Pensieve: June 2008

June 29, 2008. The Sharper Your Knife, The Less You Cry. The Sharper Your Knife, The Less You Cry; Love, Laughter, and Tears at the World's Most Famous Cooking School, by Kathleen Flinn, is the author's story of her time attending Le Cordon Bleu in Paris. I found it in the new books section at the library and was intrigued, particularly after reading My Life in France. About Julia Child's experiences studying there. And I decided to attempt the chocolate souffle. I've always been a little scared of s...

Sarah's Pensieve: October 2009
http://saepensieve.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
October 12, 2009. Saturday Evening at the Ballet. I had the opportunity to go and see the Fall Ballet over at school last weekend. I must say that I thoroughly enjoyed it. I've seen many of their ballet performances over the last several years, and this ranks as one of their best. Anyhow, I thought that it was brilliantly done, and I was amazed yet again at how much can be conveyed without any words at all. August 20, 2008. What is the What. David Egger's book, "What is the What" is the story of Valentino Achak Deng. I've seen the novel pretty much everywhere and felt like I really wanted to read it- and David's Africa Reading Challenge. November 28, 2008. November 25, 2008. A Means for Unity. She, too, was hooked, and when I left, she was deep in discussion with the lady sitting next to her about whether they should go double or nothing on the video bonus quesion. It may have been the most pleasant mechanic experience I've ever had, and it definitely was a great way to start out my Thanksgiving week. November 16, 2008. Sarah's Pensieve: Snow Day
http://saepensieve.blogspot.com/2010/01/snow-day.html
January 30, 2010. I woke up early yesterday morning wondering if we would have school. As I peeked outside, it looked like there was not as much snow as expected, so imagine my delight when I saw on the local TV station that school was cancelled anyway! And the snow was the pretty, soft, powdery stuff instead of being horribly icy. If my challah turns out well this Friday, I will put up a picture too. February 2, 2010 at 3:40 PM.
