Nice, but let’s not go to the other spectrum and condone sayings from women like Andrea Dworkin from Fire and Ice. Contemptible and disgusting. January 9, 2007 at 5:46 am. Why does a statement of social and educational equality illicit a warning of extremes? Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Enter your comment here. Address never made public).

Meanderings of a theistic agnostic. January 22, 2007. If you’re really out there and you surf the internet, I have a question. You don’t seem to hear my prayers, so maybe you could comment on a post. Does the fickle and inconsistent love of the majority of your people outweigh the rejection and anger of all those who don’t believe in you, especially the ones who have turned away from you? 3 Responses to “Question for God”. Absent from the body, present with the… Dirt? | Stray Sheep

Meanderings of a theistic agnostic. Absent from the body, present with the… Dirt? January 25, 2007. Traditionally, Christians believe that once a person dies they are immediately in the presence of Jesus. I have heard some apply the same conclusion to a person in a coma. To a large extent, I think it’s tied to an association between mind and soul. Therefore, if a person is not functional mentally speaking then they must be with Jesus. I mean, “where” else would they be? January 31, 2007 at 2:58 am. You o...

Metaphysical Equivocation | Stray Sheep
https://agnosis.wordpress.com/2007/01/19/metaphysical-equivocation
Meanderings of a theistic agnostic. January 19, 2007. Religious language as found in systematic theologies tends to be full metaphysical equivocation. Certain mystical statements are defined by other mystical statements. Even if we leave alone the critiques of positivism cocnerning linguistic meaningfulness, trying to come up with a meaningful explication of some biblical concepts can be very frustrating. One such phrase is “to be. What in the world does it mean to live in Christ? Here’s where the ...

Modern Day Slavery | Stray Sheep
https://agnosis.wordpress.com/2007/01/03/modern-day-slavery
Meanderings of a theistic agnostic. January 3, 2007. There is a form of slavery that is still in full swing. It is a form which has been spoken out against quite publicly, written about about quite forcefully, and acted upon quite politically. Yet, it still exists due to partial ignorance of the full force and variety of its practice and due to the willingness of its slaves. What is is this wretched slavery that still exists worldwide? Memoirs of a Geisha. 4 Responses to “Modern Day Slavery”. Thanks for ...

Meanderings of a theistic agnostic. March 9, 2007. Evan has some interesting thoughts about van Inwagen’s modal ontological argument. I plan to comment as soon as I get a second to breathe. Check it out for yourself here. 19 Responses to “Interesting thoughts”. March 11, 2007 at 8:32 pm. I guess my thought is that how could I ever hope to define or recognize perfection. Perfection seems a concept that is just that, a concept, so how can I fully understand a reality from a concept? However, I don’t ...

Meanderings of a theistic agnostic. What is (the) Good? 8211; pt 1. February 11, 2007. And what about the other kids who become psychologically damaged and hardened/deadened themselves? I see no usefulness in this. And please don’t tell me that God gets “glory” from this sort of thing. If this is really believed, then Marx was right. In the next few posts I will develop some potential answers and contemplations to this important question of “What is (the) Good? Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Meanderings of a theistic agnostic. December 29, 2006. This is a concise reason that demonstrates some of the internalist logic and linguistic/metaphysical dissonance I found during my christian days. It’s not conclusive evidence. But just an oddity of religious dogma. Anyone who doesn’t accept election as a valid dogma won’t have a problem with this, but I think their exegesis is a bit faulty. Read the rest of this entry ».
