Andrea and Guido: One more step to becoming Americanized
http://www.event-s.net/2015/07/one-more-step-to-becoming-americanized.html
One more step to becoming Americanized. And with some parties around the corner comes the need for cool drinks. But how do you keep them cool when the space in the fridge is already taken by BBQ stuff and other food? But why as a proud new owner of a cooler do I feel a bit more Americanized? Yes indeed, the portable cool box was first invented by Richard C. Laramy of Joliet, Illinois in 1951. He got his idea patented in 1953. :-). July 14, 2015 at 11:09 AM. July 14, 2015 at 11:10 AM. Wont happen. ;-).
Andrea and Guido: Tourists in Germany - Berlin
http://www.event-s.net/2015/07/tourists-in-germany-berlin.html
Tourists in Germany - Berlin. While in Germany last months to see our families and friends, Guido and I even had some great time being tourists in our own country: we visited Berlin and were also able to see a good friend of us again who used to live close to us here. Guido at the memorial. The next picture however hold very strong, positive memories for me. A group of friend and I decided to celebrate New Year's Eve 1989 in Berlin. Photo credit to DPA/ZUMA Press. Brandenburg Gate and Paris Square. Yes, ...

San Diego - blue hour experiments. In addition to strolling through San Diego and visiting the zoo there was one more thing that we had planned to do in San Diego: experimenting with the blue hour and taking some night shots. The first question was "Will we be allowed to carry the tripod in our hand luggage? The following four pictures are taken by Guido, obviously. He had to keep himself busy while I had engrossed the tripod. Setting up the equipment. Still hoping for a decent sunset shot. Guido, who ha...
Andrea and Guido: Tourists in Germany - Dresden
http://www.event-s.net/2015/07/tourists-in-germany-dresden_25.html
Tourists in Germany - Dresden. After a day in Berlin we thought "Hey, would an additional 125mi/200km matter, now that we are already so far east? So, we decided to continue our journey south to Dresden. To me Dresden is one of the most beautiful cities I have visited in Germany. It was almost completely destroyed towards the end of Word War II but has been rebuilt since, partially during the time of the German Democratic Republic but noticeably also after Germany's reunification in 1990. Dresden is the ...

It has been a while since my last post. I've gotten lazy with the blog, but there is just too much work and if I'm not at work I enjoy my new R1200GS and the new Fuji X-E2 camera. This is from our trip to San Francisco:. We shot a lot more photos that day, but the above are the best ones from me. All shot with the Fuji X-E2 and the 35mm Fuji prime lens. Now, some photos from Germany . Inside the Cathedral in Bonn. The Cathedral in Cologne. Inside the Cathedral in Cologne. Here we are near the San Diego C...

Motorcycle Touring - Riding on my V Star. Touring on a VStar 650 Custom: “I haven't a clue as to how my story will end. But that's all right. When you set out on a journey and night covers the road, you don't conclude the road has vanished. And how else could we discover the stars? Yes Emily, girls can ride motorcycles! Friday, June 6, 2014. It's in neutral but it doesn't know it. Did they miss one wire? Bird's eye view with tank cover removed, notice a little extra. A little research on Bounce dryers sh...

Wednesday, December 31, 2014. Happy New Year and 2014 in Pictures. Another year has come and gone, and with it, some changes in life and some changes in the stable. The moto-blogging world lost one of its pioneers when Bobskoot of Wet Coast Scootin. Passed away while driving with his loving wife Yvonne. We miss you Bob. Here's some of the pictures I used on the blog during 2014, I hope you like the video. Some stats for record. Total mileage ridden in 2014: 14,852. Miles broken down by motorcycle:. Yoshi...

Monday, September 29, 2014. 26-28SEP14: The Durango Weekend. This past weekend, I motored down with Scarlett, my 2014 URAL Patrol Sidecar Rig down to southwest Colorado and the town of Durango. The primary focus of this weekend was to get together with a couple of Army buddies and one of their wives, that I'd not see in decades. It was early morning by the time I approached the junction of US285 and US24, near Buena Vista. The sun was still low enough to cause the below shadow frame for the picture:.
A Redleg's Rides: Tire Rotation
http://redlegsrides.blogspot.com/2015/08/tire-rotation.html
Saturday, August 08, 2015. I'd notice the thread on my pusher tire starting to look a bit "thin". Measured it today and it was at 3/32" (2.38mm). Legal minimum, as I recall, is 2/32" (1.58 mm). Got almost 7000 (6984) kilometers from when I changed out the pusher to K37s back at the beginning of the year. Not bad. Saved myself a drive downtown where the moto shop is located with a onsite tire changing service, along with the fee of $25/tire or $50. I did break two of the rubber strips used to cover the sp...
A Redleg's Rides: February 2015
http://redlegsrides.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 24, 2015. Scarlett, my 2014 URAL Patrol Sidecar Rig and I took advantage of a gorgeous day here in the Metro Denver area. Though the snow remains still covering grassy areas, the roads were just mostly wet to dry due to the bright sunshine we got today. More snow forecast for the next couple of days so we headed out during the lunch hour to run some errands. Fox Racing Comp 5 Shorty Boots. They're classified as ATV Boots, short version of the full-up MX boots used by dirt bike riders.
A Redleg's Rides: March 2015
http://redlegsrides.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Friday, March 27, 2015. Foggy Pacific Coast Highway (PCH). I reached Palo Alto, CA and the home of my brother Carlos and his lovely wife Ling mid-afternoon yesterday, and reintroduced myself to their sons as its been years since I last saw them. Their names are Evan and Nathan and Nathan was but a baby then. After waking at 5AM PST this morning, did some work till 8AM and then it was time for a short break so my nephews could ride in Scarlett's sidecar and be taken to the nearby elementary school. The tr...

http://redlegsrides.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Saturday, January 31, 2015. Bison at the Arsenal. An overcast and somewhat cold day here in Metro Denver, there's perhaps an inch (if we're lucky) of snow forecast for overnight and the weather clouds have blocked most of the views of the mountains. It would spit snow flakes on and off the rest of the morning. I headed east a bit and took Quebec street north towards the Rocky Mountain Arsenal Wildlife Refuge Area. This place used to be where munitions and nuclear warhead components were made back in ...
A Redleg's Rides: April 2015
http://redlegsrides.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 26, 2015. MOAB 2015 - Day 2 and 3. Day Two, Thursday, not much to post on, it was a mostly full day of work and some maintenance on Scarlett. The highlight of the day, it turns out, was also the first event of the day. Rising early and riding out with Tim L. and Ed aka Mundo Bravo riding as monkey in my rig to go catch the sunrise. We ended up at the La Sal View Point where one can see the Monitor and Merrimac Monument rock formations. Tim L. concentrated on the monuments:. Lizzie and Dave S.

Troubadour's Treks: April 2014
http://troubadourtriumph.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Sunday, April 6, 2014. No worries, I didn't miss the first day of Spring. I did manage to ride, although it was just my mundane, uneventful, 22 mile commute along a fairly straight, four lane highway, it was still a ride nonetheless. Evidently, I seemed to have disappeared from the blogosphere (Trobairitz keeps my updated on everyone). We managed to get out once this year for a couple of covered bridge photos that Trobairitz wrote about. Then recently, I wired both of our bikes. These are great lights an...

The Ducati Saga Continues. Yesterday I mentioned the fun we are having with getting the proper parts for the top case mount for the Multistrada to mount our Givi top cases. Today we wanted to mount the new MRA VarioTouring windshield that is custom made for explicitly this Multi (2015/2016 model) and what did we find? Now, as I don't want to put a drill or file to the brand new windshield, more back and forth with the shop where we bought the windshield and the manufacturer is needed. This fact has creat...
