This kooky Bay Area weather is driving me insane. 59 degrees in June? Are you kidding me? Everyone so kindly keeps reminding me to enjoy myself and to just relax. I don't think I'm wired to relax. Do I even know how? Does that even make sense? I downloaded the Instagram App on my phone and have had a lot of fun taking pict...

Everybody Loves Reh: Moti Girl Diary: Moti Girl is indeed Moti
http://everybodylovesreh.blogspot.com/2012/07/moti-girl-diary-moti-girl-is-indeed.html
Friday, July 13, 2012. Moti Girl Diary: Moti Girl is indeed Moti. I suppose I should make it official and confirm that I am indeed preggers with my third child. Yes, it has been a while since my last post so I wanted my next post to be special. Well I had my 18 week appointment to find out the sex of our baby today and I was doing everything in my power to calm myself down before I got there. It's a 50-50 chance right? Everybody Loves Reh: About
http://everybodylovesreh.blogspot.com/p/about.html
I am an overbearing mother to two spunky girls and a little boy, Leila, Zaina and Isa. A short-fused wife of an insufferably patient husband Ismail (aka Fish) with a fiercely feisty extended family. I just like to smile. Smiling is my favorite! I was born in Pretty Pasadena CA, my childhood was spent in lovely Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, I endured my angst-filled teenage years in Redlands CA, and now for the last thirteen years I have called the beautiful Bay Area my home. On Werewolves and Monsters. And Muslims. June 5, 2016. In Stephen King’s classic book It, a group of children in Derry, Maine go up against an evil entity of some sort that at times takes the form of Pennywise the Clown (the reason many folks have an inherent fear of clowns). Truly, Truly Outrageous. May 17, 2015. Being a little kid in the 80s meant that I was exposed to a lot of cartoons that shaped my childhood. Five Cups of Tea
http://caffeinatedmuslim.com/2015/02/10/five-cups-of-tea
Five Cups of Tea. February 10, 2015. The last time I was in Istanbul, I had made the assumption that Turkish coffee was consumed all the time and I had made a point to seek it out (check out my blog post on Turkish coffee. While it’s still definitely a thing here to drink Turkish coffee, with it being on the menu of every single cafe and some places like Mandabatmaz only serving that, I hadn’t realized beforehand how much more tea is consumed. How did they know who wanted it? How did the payment work?

Coffee in Portland Part II (Full Disclosure, There was never a Part I). February 4, 2015. You know a macchiato is a small espresso drink, right? The cashier told me almost hesitantly. Fortunately, I knew that. So here’s the deal: The Portland coffee scene is pretty awesome. It already has a reputation of being really great and it’s definitely a well deserved rep. The thing is, I live in the Bay Area and there is already a lot of great coffee and roasters here. I shouldn’t be impressed with Portland!
Wandering Through Bosnia

February 19, 2015. It was 11pm for me in Sarajevo when I got a text message from my mobile service provider saying that my data roaming usage was in excess of 100 bucks. I did use data roaming for a bit but I bought a international data package before I left the U.S. of A on my trip to Istanbul, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and London. This had to be some mistake. In the historic village of Pocitelj. And dude, the food is pretty amazing and incredibly affordable. The cevapi is drool-worthy and Bosnian cof...

An Education Through Comics – The Books of Joe Sacco. March 24, 2015. A while ago, I lent out my copy of Joe Sacco’s Palestine. To a coworker. Joe Sacco is a journalist and cartoonist who spent a lot of time in the West Bank and Gaza in the early 90s, which resulted in the short comic series. Sacco draws himself in the book as well as he interacts with all the people he comes across while he walks the streets, hears stories about the occupation, and even at times is witness to events as they unfold.
Watching Through a Scope

Watching Through a Scope. February 23, 2015. Back when I used to play video games, there was one weapon that was prevalent in most of the games I played that I loved to use – the sniper rifle. I remember when the first. Came out and how fun the game was with the sniper rifle. As Master Chief, you would line up the alien enemy in your sights while they would be unaware, following them around in the rifle scope until you took the shot. It was immensely satisfying. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. And then I w...
