everydaymission: October 2013

http://www.everydaymission.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html

Friday, October 4, 2013. The bicycle, the bicycle surely, should always be the vehicle of novelists and poets. When the spirits are low, when the day appears dark, when work becomes monotonous, when hope hardly seems worth having, just mount a bicycle and go out for a spin down the road, without thought on anything but the ride you are taking. Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. On Bicycling, Saturday Evening Post, 1967. It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat...

everydaymission: On Writing

http://www.everydaymission.blogspot.com/2013/09/on-writing.html

Thursday, September 26, 2013. I haven't written a post in over a year. In my attempt to resurrect this defunct blog, I thought I would start out by reflecting a bit on what writing means to me, and why I choose to engage in the writing process. This is how you do it: you sit down at the keyboard and you put one word after another until it's done. It's that easy, and that hard.". How vain it is to sit down to write when you have not stood up to live.". You must write every single day of your life. You...

David Putman from The Nines. The Tea Party, Politics, and the American Dream. Normal at Indy Metro. May 28, 2010, 10:59 am. Not that anyone reads this blog….lol. With my consistency I don’t blame you (last post in December). Yet, I’m going to post my lessons learned from surfing yesterday in Jacksonville Beach. I’m on vacation this week with the family in JAX Beach and have always wanted to try surfing. Like skateboarding, surfing looks effortless, as if just anyone could pick it up. Duck diving is what ...

David Putman from The Nines. The Tea Party, Politics, and the American Dream. Normal at Indy Metro. The Tea Party, Politics, and the American Dream. September 9, 2010, 10:10 pm. Most important to know about me is that I am a follower of Jesus. While I am still a train wreck of sin, I do love Jesus Christ and have been overwhelmed by His personal grace for me. He is both Savior and Lord of my life. Definition of Christian Liberty by John MacArthur. Many people in my life who wouldn’t label themselve...

Everyday Missionary

Tales from the journey of a modern day disciple. Monday, June 15, 2015. I find myself reflecting on God's grace. He is so good to me even when I don't deserve it. Let's face it I can't ever deserve it. That's the thing about grace. It's not about me. It's about my God and His goodness. He is so good that His grace washes over me like a flood cleansing my undeserving heart making me worthy of His unfailing love. Tuesday, October 1, 2013. It's been almost two years in between and my patience is wearing thin.
