The Everyday People Project: May 2012
http://everydaypeopleproject.blogspot.com/2012_05_01_archive.html
The Everyday People Project: Making Our Way In A New Economy. Thursday, May 31, 2012. What is happening to me? I've got a birthday coming - the big 55. I'm truly okay with it, mostly. A bit frightened about the unknown, but basically at peace with me, my life and my past. Most of the time. But I'm having a quiet internal fashion revolution. So why is Audrey Hepburn (who I have always loved but never sought as a style guru) looking so good to me now? So there's a precedent for this shift. I whacked all my...

http://everydaypeopleproject.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
The Everyday People Project: Making Our Way In A New Economy. Thursday, November 14, 2013. Sari Botton October 2013. Her husband is self-employed, too, so neither of them has a steady income they can count on. We've toyed with renting out a part of our house. I mean, how do you stay afloat in this economy? One point this year we almost rented out our whole house, but we weren't ready for that. So what are the other ways you can stay afloat? And it's expensive to live in New York, even upstate. We're cons...

On her own dime and her own time, despite her degree? 8220;I have to see if I can download a trial version on my computer so I can get acquainted with them without spending the $500 these computer programs cost, see if I can figure it out on my own.”. 8220;One of my friends was an accounti...
The Everyday People Project: Strangled By Red Tape - Our Journey to Insurance
http://everydaypeopleproject.blogspot.com/2013/12/strangled-by-red-tape-our-journey-to.html
The Everyday People Project: Making Our Way In A New Economy. Sunday, December 22, 2013. Strangled By Red Tape - Our Journey to Insurance. I looked into insurance. Of course I did - I'm a responsible adult. The cheapest insurance I could find was a terrible plan with high deductibles that was going to cost me a thousand dollars a month. I just didn't have a spare thousand lying around every month. So that meant going without and keeping my fingers crossed that I didn't get sick. He's not a terribly patie...
The Everyday People Project: Life is Life-y
http://everydaypeopleproject.blogspot.com/2014/06/life-is-life-y.html
The Everyday People Project: Making Our Way In A New Economy. Monday, June 9, 2014. There was a time when this photo was what people meant by family. Mom, Dad, six kids, aunts, uncles, cousins, grandparents, and assorted strangers who came to stay and never left. Yet I have my own extended family. There comes a time when all of us have to widen that definition. For us, it's kids and parents. My son stayed with us a few summers ago when life was weighing heavily on him and he needed some time to be a ...

http://iowagrasslands.blogspot.com/2013/07/mount-rushmore-visit.html
Sunday, July 7, 2013. Recently I drove out to Rapid City, South Dakota, to see Mount Rushmore. This sculpture was carved out of the side of a rock cliff. The sculpture is of Presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln. You can see the monument from quite a distance. The first time you glimpse the sculpture it almost takes your breath away. You usually see pictures of Mount Rushmore that look something like this. This is what the sculptor wanted to do. Extremely ...

Autumn Desire: June 2010
http://autmndesire.blogspot.com/2010_06_01_archive.html
Ramblings of a Woman. Wednesday, June 9, 2010. It feels like a lifetime since I've last blogged. My world has been filled to capacity of late, to the point of being over whelmed. Work of course has reached its midyear peak, with more deadlines than I care to count. The weather here has been rain, rain and more rain, which led to the leaking of gutters and the skylight in the kitchen. Such is my world at the moment, a whirlwind of deadlines, sadness, fear for this country, our world, and one small child.

THE EVERYDAY PEOPLE PROJECT Making Our Way In A New America. Thursday, June 1, 2017. The New World Disorder. Try as I may, it is nearly impossible to keep up with the sheer volume of dung being flung in every direction from the White House and Congress. American has reaped what we have been quietly sowing. Capitalism has destroyed the republic. There are still some people, apparently, who buy it all and swallow. That's a billboard in Russia. Think Vladimir is happy?
