Every Day Simple – Living. Growing. Loving.

Living. Growing. Loving. Written on our Hearts. March 19, 2018. I sent out along with the newsletter this week, the one where Jesus needs some time alone and embarks on the forty days in the desert. Along his way, halfway through, he finds a flower, another day he chases birds, gazes at the sunset, or whistles with a bird. Good Friday, 2015 | Every Day Simple

http://everydaysimple.org/2015/04/03/good-friday-2015

Living. Growing. Loving. Good Friday, 2015. April 3, 2015. The Triduum–the three days in the church that try to capture the great mystery of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection (the Paschal mystery)–will break open our hearts and pry open our eyes if we are strong enough to turn toward God. Can we handle the thunder. It is easily too much. Walking home, the nearly full moon was shrouded by clouds. The evening continued normally, marked by the “Open” sign at the coffee shop and the frat b...July 22, 2015.

Calendar Lust | Every Day Simple

http://everydaysimple.org/2014/07/26/calendar-lust

Living. Growing. Loving. July 26, 2014. The past couple of weeks I have been looking at new calendars/appointment books. The inkling coincided with back-to-school shopping, and I’m as bad as anyone else about wanting to get something new to mark the transition into another school year. In my current well-worn book, dates are marked for the upcoming semester for the three different school calendars; helpful notes are in the back pages. I have a good thing going. Yes, it sounds like me, but, no, it’s...

Living. Growing. Loving. January 29, 2016. It finally came out. Experience has taught me that splinters do work themselves out, or, rather, that our bodies efficiently work to remove foreign objects, using white blood cells, I imagine (for I haven’t looked into the science of it). This splinter, however, has been content to remain in place. Subtle. Non-imposing. There’s no inflammation, no need to be concerned. Just wait. But it doesn’t belong on me or in me, so it bothers me to see it. All in a Word.

Everyday Simple Abundance

Sunday, November 22, 2009. As Danica woke me at 6 am this morning with her usual "MAMA" call my heart felt discouraged. I am tired and a little bit depressed.
