Wednesday, February 22, 2012. I grew up Baptist. That's all I've ever known. And if someone had ever told me I'd be observing Lent someday I would have laughed. Doesn't everyone know that's a Catholic holiday? Yet I feel drawn to this time of repentance and reflection. What can I sacrifice to grow closer to Christ? At the time I found that pretty amusing because I was quite sure I'd never actually BE a homemaker. Sunday, July 6, 2014. Why I Cook From Scratch. Menu planning. Those two words used to give me despair. I cook three meals a day for six people. Per month that is 90 meals being prepared. The task of sitting down and planning out meals used to be my most hated chore. We did it for a while, but that all changed last fall . . .
