Life in General and Specific: July 2012
http://lifeingeneralandspecific.blogspot.com/2012_07_01_archive.html
Life in General and Specific. Monday, July 16, 2012. Eighty-one year olds are romantic. If you know me, you know I have an incurable crush on older men. I'm not talking Clooney. I'm talking hunched back, saggy skin and long earlobes older. They have lived. And they are so special to me. I was assigned the task of sitting with an 81 year old confused heart surgery patient who had previously tried to give himself a concussion by pulling his IV pole down on his head. I will call him Donny. So Donny and I go...

Life in General and Specific: October 2011
http://lifeingeneralandspecific.blogspot.com/2011_10_01_archive.html
Life in General and Specific. Tuesday, October 18, 2011. Autumn is my favorite. My dad's old flannel red and black jacket. Gusty, invigorating breezes. Red, orange, and brown. Sweaters (albeit, I wear sweaters all year long). Crisp, clear air. The whispered thought of Christmas. Life in General and Specific. Wednesday, October 12, 2011. An Exceptionally Good Day. That is what I feel right now. So they stopped that idea really quickly. We were done! Tell me who only wants back massages near the holidays!

All this every day. Mulling over extravagant love, good books, city dwelling and coffee drinking. Rewind with me, back to Memorial Day weekend. The one where every last minute was dedicated to soaking up as much weekend as possible and storing it for days like today, when I'm back at work. On a Monday. And it's beautiful outside. And I want to be here again:. We kicked off summer with leisurely dinners, Saturday brunch, margaritas at Bakersfield. Drinks and shenanigans at Neon's. View my complete profile.

Well, well, well.a whole month of daily blogging and all I can say at the end is."Whew! But thanks for sticking with me. I so appreciate every comment, and every time someone "confesses" that they read my blog. Hopefully you've found a new recipe to try, added a book to your reading list or at least been mildly entertained. 1) Christmas card recipients. 2) Gifts for family members.

All this every day. Mulling over extravagant love, good books, city dwelling and coffee drinking. I decided that a pumpkin roll was the only way to go. So I based my roll on this recipe. Granulated sugar, butter, eggs, vanilla, flour, powdered sugar, pure canned pumpkin (NOT pumpkin pie mix), cream cheese, nutmeg, ginger, salt, ground cloves, cinnamon and baking powder. And also baking soda, which I forgot to get out. Then, prepare ye pans and surfaces! Beat in pumpkin, then stir in the dry ingredients.

All this every day. Mulling over extravagant love, good books, city dwelling and coffee drinking. Here are 10 recent pins that make my heart go pitter-pat:. Let's start with food, shall we? This dish of angel hair pasta with caramelized onions, roasted balsamic figs, bacon and goat cheese. This is a rösti -. Which is basically a creamy, fluffy hashbrown cloud cooked in a skillet. Sounds like serious comfort food. Now this is what I call a fall dessert - apple bread pudding with booze and brioche. And she...

Life in General and Specific: Thoughts on Moving and What It Entails.

Life in General and Specific. Sunday, October 21, 2012. Thoughts on Moving and What It Entails. I write this from the warm side of my parents guest room queen size bed. If I stretch my toes across the middle, I find cold sheets where the warmth of my husband should be. He's currently sleeping on an air mattress in Davenport, likely wishing he could just sleep in a bed. I am curious about people who honk their car horns at others due to impatience. I have no problems with horns and use it on the occas...

Life in General and Specific: June 2011
http://lifeingeneralandspecific.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html
Life in General and Specific. Sunday, June 12, 2011. Girl and boy rules for bathrooms aren't the same. Today, I passed a large stone. Milestone, that is. A lady at church realized I was pregnant and talked to me like it was obvious. No questions, no hesitation on whether I'm just chubby or not. Well, you have a baby in your belly.". While she said this, she reached out and lightly tapped my stomach. Stranger lady, you have stolen my heart. Life in General and Specific. Wednesday, June 1, 2011. The childr...

Life in General and Specific. Tuesday, February 22, 2011. Where do I start? I suppose I will start with submission to God. Tonight I ran across a blog of a woman near my age discussing gentleness- she ended with the suggestion to read the writings of Matthew Henry, a Presbyterian minister and Bible commentator from the 1600's. In his book The Quest for Meekness and Quietness of Spirit,. Life in General and Specific. He is thriving at Palmer. Not only is he killing it in the grades category, but he co...

Life in General and Specific: Confessions of a (Pitiful) Wife
http://lifeingeneralandspecific.blogspot.com/2012/07/confessions-of-pitiful-wife.html
Life in General and Specific. Monday, July 2, 2012. Confessions of a (Pitiful) Wife. I'm not like that. I've always been slow at completing tasks. I can get lost for hours in fiction. I want to snuggle with Josh on the couch instead of dealing with the (never-ending) dishes all over my kitchen. And we're in deep trouble now that Olympic trials are on. So, feel free to stop by my house. Anytime. And if it's a wreck, well, I deserve to be embarassed and perhaps it will spur me on. July 11, 2012 at 7:44 PM.
