Viewstate Problems in IIS and ASP.NET. October 3, 2008. I discovered a curious bit of .NET and IIS (mis)functionality recently when setting up a new home page on a website. There are a few things that seem to trigger this problem, but I wasn’t ever able to get a solid answer about it specifically. The general case is this-. You have a WebSite in IIS. You have a subsite in that WebSite. You’re main Websites default content page is located in that subsite. Your default content page has a postback event.
