Birds of a Feather: October 2013
http://ealougee.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Birds of a Feather. Sunday, October 20, 2013. Life is like a pile of fallen leaves. The weather has been absolutely gorgeous. Seriously. About 60 degrees, perfect blue skies and barely a breeze. I think we're going to get another week of it and I'm thrilled. Eric mowed the lawn for the first time since before he left for Mexico. It's a good thing. Our lawn was looking pretty desperate. Well, that was our week! Links to this post. Sunday, October 13, 2013. This week was a beautiful fall week. On Monda...

Birds of a Feather: July 2014
http://ealougee.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Birds of a Feather. Monday, July 14, 2014. A Beautiful Day to Be Born part 2. My sister Zoey called around 10 or so, asking if she could come hang out for a bit. She did, and she brought french fries, which I couldn’t eat. Mind you, I hadn’t eaten anything except popsicles since 11am that morning. I was starving! 8221; and “Holy mother of crap” and “My mother! My nurse must have decided I shouldn’t be able to make jokes between pushes so she sneakily upped my pitocin again! Sweet, sweet relief! They plac...

Birds of a Feather: Around the House
http://ealougee.blogspot.com/2014/04/around-house.html
Birds of a Feather. Sunday, April 6, 2014. Thought I'd share some recent projects I've done around the house. With my experience with Ella, cloth diapers make the best burp cloths. So, I dyed several blue for baby boy (yeah, I should probably do a post about that, huh? We converted Ella's crib into a "big girl" bed back in December. Then, several weeks ago we converted her closet into a bed nook area. I think it's pretty cute and cozy. Ikea spice rack, painted and used as a book shelf. So there ya go.

Birds of a Feather: April 2013
http://ealougee.blogspot.com/2013_04_01_archive.html
Birds of a Feather. Monday, April 22, 2013. Another update on Ol' Mabel. The roof vent had to go. It was old. It was rusty. It was crusty. But perhaps its worst offense was that it leaked real bad. Because of this leaking, the boards around it had warped into a bow shape allowing water to pool on the top and only make the leaking worse. We've had plenty of rain since then and not a leak yet! Still gotta replace the paneling.soon! Eric has also been diligently working on cleaning up the backsplash in the ...

Birds of a Feather: January 2013
http://ealougee.blogspot.com/2013_01_01_archive.html
Birds of a Feather. Thursday, January 31, 2013. Ants in my pants. So, I have a chronic condition. About once a year I get the this ants-in-my-pants need for change, for something more or different. It happened pre-marriage and it continues to happen now that I'm married. I'm pretty sure this itch happened again four months into our marriage. I decided that I needed to get pregnant - and we did! And now the itch has returned. This antsy feeling is so annoying! I want this to be enough! Not Abana and Pharp...

Birds of a Feather: A Beautiful Day to Be Born part 1
http://ealougee.blogspot.com/2014/07/a-beautiful-day-to-be-born-part-1.html
Birds of a Feather. Sunday, July 13, 2014. A Beautiful Day to Be Born part 1. 8221; I debated whether to tell Eric just yet, as I wasn’t having contractions and I knew that he’d be anxious and possibly unable to sleep. I know how much my husband values his sleep, but in the end decided I better tell him. I also called my mom as she had explicitly said she wanted “warning.” Whatever that meant? Desperate times call for desperate measures. Excitement at being at the hospital. The two of us. Nat the fat rat.

Birds of a Feather: The Great Christmas Tree Hunt of 2013
http://ealougee.blogspot.com/2013/12/the-christmas-tree-hunt-of-2013.html
Birds of a Feather. Sunday, December 1, 2013. The Great Christmas Tree Hunt of 2013. Yesterday we headed out on our becoming annual Christmas tree hunt. It was a bit of an adventure. We didn't want to have to drive too far down the freeway, so we tried going up Owesly Canyon first, not realizing they close the road off to motor vehicles from October to March. And then Eric found it! She's a prickly little Spruce, but she looks great! Her she is mimicking her pops. See her blurry hand? The two of us.

Birds of a Feather: September 2013
http://ealougee.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html
Birds of a Feather. Wednesday, September 18, 2013. I love fall. But, the cooler and shorter days often make me passive and reflective rather than productive. So, I decided to make a list of fall to-dos. Inspired by my energetic Sister-in-Law, Elizabeth. And her much more ambitious list of to dos (see her blog). Gospel ABC book for El. Collect fall berries still on the stick to put in glass bottles. Make cranberry pecan "leaves" and take to friends to celebrate fall. Create a Thanksgiving banner.
