EWind is developing a disruptive, cost effective airborne wind energy (AWE) technology a wind energy generation system to access more consistent, reliable winds at higher altitudes than those reached by traditional wind turbines. Once commercialized, the system is estimated to deliver clean, renewable electrical power with a levelized cost of $0.05 to $0.07kWh (comparable to Hydroelectric). This tool will provide simulations of interactive virtual reality to train the technicians on the most critical operations in maintenance of wind turbines. The final tool will be available in 5 languages (German, Greek, Lithuanian, Portuguese and Spanish). The project started on January 2008 and is expected to finish by the end of June 2010.
