Examining Hamlet: Our Country's Good and Hamlet

http://examininghamlet.blogspot.com/2009/04/our-countrys-good-and-hamlet.html

Saturday, April 25, 2009. Our Country's Good and Hamlet. Watching Our Country's Good this Thursday, I drew several comparisons between the play and Hamlet. The first comparison is very obvious: the aspect of the play within a play. While Hamlet is trying to convince himself that Claudius is the one who killed his father, Second Lieutenant Clark and the prisoners are trying to convince the other officers that plays are worthwhile to the well-being of the inmates. My third comparison is that both plays take place in a prison, Denmark being a metaphorical prison, as stated by Hamlet, and Australia being an actual prison, inhabited by inmates from England. Hamlet is imprisoned by his bad dreams while the inmates are physically imprisoned. Sunday, April 12, 2009. If you lo...

Examining Hamlet: Adapting Hamlet into a Hardboiled Crime Story

http://examininghamlet.blogspot.com/2009/05/adapting-hamlet-into-hardboiled-crime.html

Tuesday, May 12, 2009. Adapting Hamlet into a Hardboiled Crime Story. Horatio will be the detective of the story. Horatio makes the perfect detective because he is one of the few characters who is totally distant from the family. This is a main point of most hardboiled detective stories, the detectives are never personally involved in the crime itself. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Examining Hamlet: Hamlet's Education

http://examininghamlet.blogspot.com/2009/04/hamlets-education.html

Sunday, April 12, 2009. If you look at the other work's of Shakespeare you will notice that the main character's of those plays have not had much education. The fact that Hamlet is well-educated is very interesting to me. He stands out from the other character's in Shakespeare's plays. And the fact that he is educated as opposed to many of the characters in Hamlet. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Happy Ending to Gertrude and Claudius.
