Executive Editor's Blog: April 2010

http://executiveeditorsblog.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html

Thursday, April 29, 2010. Should I be on YouTube? A story last week about a Cheshire teen who met his prom date via You Tube got me to thinking about whether I might become a YouTube star. The young woman, from Georgia, has become popular on YouTube by talking about fashion and makeup. I probably wouldn’t be a popular YouTube commodity. Take a look at my daily video and let me know if you think it should be posted on YouTube. If not, what might I do differently to make the video more YouTube friendly?

Executive Editor's Blog: Cell Phone Blues Part 2

http://executiveeditorsblog.blogspot.com/2010/05/cell-phone-blues-part-2.html

Friday, May 21, 2010. Cell Phone Blues Part 2. In a blog last week, I complained about the never-ending cycle of new cell phones that allegedly don’t cost me anything. My other complaint about getting a new phone every 12 months is that as soon as I get used to a phone it is replaced by one that is supposedly better. My wife and sons would get a new phone every six months if they could so they are always happy with a new phone. Once again, I feel left out. Am I the only one that has this problem? But if ...

Executive Editor's Blog: July 2009

http://executiveeditorsblog.blogspot.com/2009_07_01_archive.html

Friday, July 31, 2009. Did I Do the Right Thing? I apologize for neglecting my blog. I was on vacation earlier this month and spent most of this week catching up on other things here at work. I’ll restart with one of my favorite subjects: “Did I do the right thing? He replied: “You don’t need to. Just enjoy your coffee and have a nice night.”. I took the coffee, thanked him and didn’t return. Did I do the right thing in accepting the freebie? Let me know what you think. Friday, July 10, 2009. Since schoo...

Executive Editor's Blog: My take on a Forum section thread

http://executiveeditorsblog.blogspot.com/2010/06/my-take-on-forum-section-thread.html

Thursday, June 24, 2010. My take on a Forum section thread. There is an interesting thread in our MyRecordJournal Forum section on a topic that a lot of us can relate to. According to one of our regular forum posters, a man had the police called on him for offering to pay for a young girl’s ice cream at the Wallingford Dairy Queen. Apparently someone misinterpreted his actions and thought he was up to no good. The thread mentions that it was a man and a woman who confronted the man and called 9-1-1. ...

Mark O’Keefe, executive editor of the Herald-Standard. It’s not all pork. March 3, 2009. Still think that all the money in Obama’s federal economic stimulus program is going for pork, which will do nothing to help the economy? Well, think again. Consider the news from the West Virginia Division of Highways that they’ll be using $14.9 million from the stimulus fund to move up construction of its portion of the Mon/Fayette Expressway. It’s great news overall for the expressway, which has been talked about.
