My aunt (mother's sister) passed away a few days ago (allah yir7amha) and it was a sudden thing. she was in her 60s and she never complained from any sickness until a heart attack claimed her. The ironic thing about death is the way people react to it. the first question is, "was she sick? If the answer is yes you see this weird look of ashamed relief on people's faces .because they think. "ok i am not sick. so i am somehow 'safe' from death". May god be with all of us.

Saturday, April 14, 2007. So after complaining and complaining about the unfair situation I was facing at work. I finally decided to do something about it. Although I have to say when asked about my old job I still talk about the place like I belong there and then rephrase to remind myself I no longer work there. but that I am here. I miss the some of my friends there. the morning tea gossip session. and the familiarity of the place. Just Another Meaningless Update.

Sunday, May 06, 2007. Three weeks on the new job so far and I am enjoying it. I go through moments of sheer panic at the thought that I not only need to know how to do my job, but I also need to know the job that my team is doing. It’s a whole new ball game being in a management position. Especially in a different organization and in a different area to the one I am experienced in. But so far I am loving it. Just Another Meaningless Update.

Wednesday, January 17, 2007. Yesterday was my cousin's engagement party (father's brother's son). I got a call on Friday. Inviting me to the engagement. and when i asked where it was. i was told to go to this hall. i was like OK. So yesterday i passed by my mother and sister and we went to hall. So we stayed but i was pissed off , i just sat there waiting for the whole thing to finish. not to mention my mother gave me a lecture on what i wearing as she felt it was not appropriate. It feels like its just not worth the effort because everything i say will be repetative. work or family. not much going on otherwise because i barely have the time to think of anything else. so is it worth updating? First year of motherhood. Sunday, September 17, 2006. 2 weeks to go for my son's first birthday inshallah. I have no idea how i am going to celebrate it yet, as its going to be in ramadhan and people are not really up for parties at that time. So it will probably be a small gathering at my house since he is too young to appreciate it anyway. After all the first birthday is mostly for us parents and family and friends. Sunday, July 09, 2006. Today is my last day of work for 37 days! Finally i am going on vactaion. it was a struggle to get things in order and everything approved but its finally been done and i am off tommorrow inshallah to egypt. i will be checking my blog from time to time and if i mange will post something from chaotic egypt! Tuesday, November 07, 2006. A friend asked about my 13 month old son and I told her he's walking now but he's still a bit wobbly . She asked me if I feel excited or scared now that's he walking around the house ,. Now that he has started moving about I do hear the occasional "daloo3" comment because he's still not stable on his feet and I just want to shout out. "leave him alone" , but of course I smile and make no comments. So yeah I guess I am excited and scared as my son goes through his wobbly times.
