Expat in Oxford

Tuesday, January 4, 2011. As most of you know by now, we made it home shortly before midnight on Christmas Eve,after being up more than 24 hours, with the help of our dear friends, the Walshes. Jennifer Walsh and Keren Hale had thoughtfully stocked the kitchen with some staples (and some not-so-staples), as well as some toiletries, and some Christmas decorations. It was so thoughtful and helpful. But we were home! It took about a week to un-jet-lag. Friday, December 24, 2010. Wednesday, December 22, 2010.

http://www.expatinoxford.blogspot.com/2010_07_01_archive.html

Tuesday, July 27, 2010. Yesterday we toured 3 of the 4 Colleges to which our students are assigned. The 4th one is Christchurch, where some of. Is filmed, which we saw on our last trip. Three of the schools are very old and amazing. The 4th is 1960s ultra modern. It is also not centrally located. Since Bryan has left me alone with the computer today, I'll take advantage of it. Sunday, July 25, 2010. Shopping till I drop. The new picture is the view from our balcony. Friday, July 23, 2010. By the evening ...

Expat in Oxford: Not so much

http://www.expatinoxford.blogspot.com/2010/12/not-so-much.html

Saturday, December 4, 2010. Things in the UK I'm not so fond of. Very, very,. Rare to have hot and cold mixed in one bathroom tap. Thankfully we have that here. Good customer service is spotty. Coffee-see previous rant. Having to shop at several places to get everything- no one-stop-shopping. Public toilets! No toilet seat covers-ever. Most have gone to hand dryers rather than paper towels, and fully 75% don't work or barely dry hands. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Veni, vidi, vici.

Each college has its own chapel. The bust is of C. S. Lewis. Saturday, August 28, 2010. I just had the time to sit down and read all the comments, and respond. So if you want to see my responses, they're now posted. I'm glad you seem to enjoy reading them as much as I do posting them. Two pics are of a. Thursday, August 26, 2010.

We began raising money for an organization called Smile Train, which does celft surgeries for children all around the world. Each surgery cost $250. The goal was for my class to raise $25 to help go for the surgery. Well after discussing and encouraging my students they showed up the next day with $50! I was so inspired and amazed at my kids! Blessed to be a Wife and Mom: Patience

http://njpatey.blogspot.com/2013/03/patience.html

Blessed to be a Wife and Mom. Loving God and loving others. Tuesday, March 19, 2013. The parent child relationship I get to have with Noah is such a reminder of my relationship with the Lord. When I don't get my way how do I respond to God? Do I kick and scream and throw a tantrum or do I trust and follow where my Heavenly Father is leading me? Patience has its rewards. I didnt always walk in it but I now get to see the rewards. You are both great parents and were proud of you. Dad. Wowed by the Intellig...

Blessed to be a Wife and Mom. Loving God and loving others. Friday, September 16, 2011. I have been blessed with the role of being mommy to Noah. I absolutely love being a mommy. I didn't know how I would feel, or act or if it would come naturally. For the longest time I didn't feel ready to have kids. It was somewhere around 5 weeks though that he first began to smile, and that was the end of it for Nick and I! Raising kids is such a joy and each part of it is such a treasured moment. It has been hard t...
