Addled and Accentuated by ADD in Academia. Musings of an academic who happens to have ADD. Ah, summer…. Another year… →. Ah, summer (part 2). July 14, 2009. It seems that each semester I have at least one student who has moderate to severe ADHD. My summer course was no exception; I had a student with ADHD that was sufficiently severe to require fairly intensive accommodations, which I was happy to provide in order to help them be successful in my course. Unfortunately, on the last day of lecture, when my...

Addled and Accentuated by ADD in Academia. Musings of an academic who happens to have ADD. The reason for my long silence. It’s a girl! Baby Addled has arrived! November 30, 2009. A colleague recently alerted me to a job posting in my field at Ideal Home State University. I can’t decide if I should apply or not. On one hand, I should apply because:. I’d be in my home state and would be surrounded by people who understand my regional accent and idioms. My family would be about an hour’s drive away i...

Addled and Accentuated by ADD in Academia. Musings of an academic who happens to have ADD. The reason for my long silence →. Ah, summer (part 3). September 15, 2009. About 2 months ago I posted about my experiences teaching over the summer. I had a student with severe ADHD in my small class, and it made the class a unique challenge. This morning I received my course evals in that class. Yes, they actually used these words in my evaluations. The third student was one of their friends. I am livid and disgu...

Hello world, I Have ADD! | i have add?
https://ihaveadd.wordpress.com/2007/11/11/hello-world
Adult ADD/ADHD Information and Support. November 11, 2007. Hello world, I Have ADD! It’s not easy to admit that you have ADD. When I tell people (and very few I might add) that I have ADD I get a mixed response. Some of the reactions are: “really but you seem normal”, “but you’re not hyperactive” or “ADD, that’s just some lame excuse for being lazy”. Why do I fear telling them? Does any of this strike a bell? See everybody has fears of telling the world, I Have ADD! Talk to your Physician about ADD.

Adult ADD/ADHD Information and Support. July 1, 2009. More Tales of OCD Fun. First how weird is it that the last time I posted to this blog it was July 1st 2008 and my last post was about OCD! So here I am at 4:23 AM. I should be sleeping but no I’m awake because I have become obsessed with buying a new mobile phone. And not just any phone, I have gone coo-coo for cocoa puffs over the Touch Screen phones with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard like the LG Xenon. Last night I finally told my wife that I have bec...

ADD-Libbing: Back to basics
http://add-libbing.blogspot.com/2011/03/back-to-basics.html
To ad lib is to be spontaneously witty. To ADD lib is to blog about my clever observations as a lady in her early forties as I navigate life's adventures since my "official" ADD diagnosis five years ago. Enjoy! Sunday, March 13, 2011. I'm going to rip off the "What I Know For Sure" column that Oprah writes in the back of her magazine to share a few thoughts about my diagnosis and taking ADD meds:. If you think you're an ADDer and are unmedicated and wonder what it's like taking ADD meds, do this: tune a ...
