Thursday, April 26, 2012. Olga Paley's Corsage Ornament. or Hat Ornament! Let's wear it as a tiara! Nice tiara. I'm going to drape it down the front of my dress. What a pretty brooch. And then there it is in her hat (in about 1912-1913)! Doesn't it look a lot like a convertible fringe necklace? There you have it! Tuesday, April 24, 2012. And the vil...

Monday, December 10, 2012. This Saturday was Fezziwig's Ball! It was wild and fun and a great success. But I was chastised repeatedly for not posting anything in my blog, so I must be better now. Wednesday, December 12, 2012. Christmas at the Commandant's House. Some of the nice girls who work there danced with us. Blind Man's Buff - Nick, that may be a bonnet, but it is way too short to be a girl. And that is a wall! There was too much laughing to be in focus. Quinn will serve you tea. Pretty mantlepiece, pretty girls. Check out those cool people. I think we were missing a couple of people, but that happens. Mmm, floral arrangements. The back of Quinn's dress is so pretty! I love that you actual...

Experiments in Elegance: Swan Down
http://experimentsinelegance.blogspot.com/search/label/Swan%20Down
Showing posts with label Swan Down. Showing posts with label Swan Down. Tuesday, December 20, 2011. What is Swans' Down, Exactly? I have recently been obsessed with items of clothing or accessories trimmed with swans' down, and I have been inspired to make some items like that. In the comments section (which I always read and sometimes actually reply to), I was asked how I'd do this. Would I use marabou boas, or actually fluffly little bits of down? How do you handle such tiny feathers? Now, for all prac...

Just another WordPress.com site. Tea Tales One- the moment it all began. February 6, 2013 by experimentsineating. Having contemplated my love of tea for a few minutes I realised I most definitely had enough tea-related opinions, anecdotes and products to fill many a blog post- and who am I to deny you? So, where to start? Well, let me tell you how it all began. It was probably only vaguely related to tea, being mainly milk and sugar, but it was the first of many. The fact that sugar isn’t reall...1 small...

Experiments in Ecclesia | what if it blew up?
What if it blew up? March 23, 2008 by stephen. At this council, but not developed. The doctrine of the Trinity was bing defined to help people understand how God the Father, Jesus Christ our LORD, and the Holy Spirit could be the same God, without being three separate gods or having them all be the same God with different levels of “godness.”. Jesus exploded into the life of ancient Israel–the life of the whole world, in fact– not as a teacher of timeless truths, nor as a great moral example,...My first ...

Occasionally, I will even finish a project. And here is project I'm pretty crazy proud of - a reproduction of a designer 1920s sweater. And because this post ended up being so long, here's a quick picture in case you don't make it any further. Taken outside Longfellow House, during a break in a tweed ride. Check out that sweater! I made my own!
