I have decided to write a history of the 20th Century, a full history, from Sun Yat Sen to Dwight MacDonald, from Ivor Novello to Ayman al Zawahiri (via Henry Kissinger). This will be difficult, impossible some may say, but I laugh at the doom cryers and poor scorn upon the naysayers, I am my very own Fitzcaraldo and I’m gonna pull my proverbial steamer gonna a mountain no matter what.
