The jist of it. Rules to live by. RULES TO LIVE BY:. Never forget your camera and notebook. Brake for historic markers. There's something cool to be found everywhere if you look hard enough. Listen to local radio whenever possible. No chain restaurants, ever. Smile at strangers, no matter how grumpy they seem to be. Your intuition is better than Trip Advisor. You may never be back here again, and it's only money, after all. Sunsets are sacred; stop what you're doing and take them in.

Wherever I go, I take pictures, I talk to folks, I eat, I listen to music, and I write.
