The Stitch Fiddler: ELF ART DOLL
http://thestitchfiddler.blogspot.com/2015/03/elf-trina.html
Monday, March 23, 2015. ELF ART DOLL by Bethann Scott. My inspiration color came to life this week with a small twist, I used a totally different fabric than the original organza that I draped over her shoulder. Much of her costume is needle felted including her Elf hat and slippers. She sits atop a Mushroom that I created. I love the movement and colors. I was going to make a pair of wings, but that will be for the next doll. Elf Doll by Bethann Scott. Elf Art Doll by Bethann Scott The Stitch Fiddler.

The Stitch Fiddler: ~VICTORIAN GOWN~
http://thestitchfiddler.blogspot.com/2014/12/my-next-project-victorian-gown.html
Tuesday, December 30, 2014. Back in November I started sewing a Victorian style Gown for a doll I've been working on. I usually do a mock up in muslin but I decided to use a cotton print fabric. One day I hope to start with a sketch. The bodice is lined and the sleeves are being set in. I still find it difficult to sew an "applied costume". The applied costume cuts down on bulk, but I enjoy sewing "proper garments" that are fully lined. Victorian Doll Gown WIP by Bethann Scott. Labels: Art Doll WIP.
The Stitch Fiddler: PETTICOAT TIME
http://thestitchfiddler.blogspot.com/2015/01/petticoat-time.html
Tuesday, January 6, 2015. Now that the Holidays are over and the New Year is here, I'm making a ruffled petticoat. I wasn't sure what type of petticoat would do for her Victorian Gown. I wanted the petticoat to be somewhat form fitting around her waist and hip area and full at the bottom. I thought maybe a four panel skirt with tiers of ruffles may help give the gown the volume needed. Posted by The Stitch Fiddler. January 6, 2015 at 9:11 PM. It is looking lovely. The Stitch Fiddler: VICTORIAN DOLL WIP
http://thestitchfiddler.blogspot.com/2015/01/victorian-doll-wip.html
Wednesday, January 21, 2015. Slowly but surely work is being accomplished. I needed to make a few more mock-ups to arrive at the proper bodice. I wanted princess seams and a square neckline. I used dupioni silk. I chose tiny white pearls, rose colored seed beads and matching sulky thread to bead the trim. I did the same with her silk skirt. I made her a pair of stockings and white satin split drawers. Posted by The Stitch Fiddler. Beading a Doll Bodice. January 21, 2015 at 9:58 AM. Little Red Riding Hood.

Friday, May 8, 2015. The Fairy and The Traveler. Textile Art Dolls by Bethann Scott. I just couldn't resist showing the difference in the size of these two dolls. The Elf/Fairy is 16" seated and the Traveler is 13" standing! Now I'll be making a small fairy doll with wings. Posted by The Stitch Fiddler. Lovely ladies. Great mushroom. I look forward to your little fairy! May 9, 2015 at 8:07 AM. I think her new costume suits the theme perfectly. Those wee hands must have been difficult. All content on this...

Explorations in Theology
Preaching in Practice: Moving Beyond the Violence of Our Words: Preaching V Practice. Rev Levi Jones wanted to present a fifth post in order to discuss preaching practice in the proposed theological framework of the first four posts. You won’t find here a one-size-fits-all method for every sermon. Instead, Levi offers some suggestive insights into the proper posture of the preacher in preparing for the task, as well as a potential movement for faithful proclamation. My concern here has been maintaining G...

Explorations into the Known World
Explorations into the Known World. Thursday, 1 September 2011. Studland - Isle of Wight - Lymington (27th August 2011). And as the sky slowly brightened and our target became firmer on the horizon, I realized I was completely happy, happy in my sleek little boat and my familiarity with the way it handles, happy with the shifting contours of the sea, constantly forming and reforming, with the freshness of the sea air, the circling sea birds and the pure simplicity of the view.
