Those quail are crazy! We've been keeping 4 quail since June 2012, and found that the world of quail is pretty deep. Here is what we found. Saturday, May 3, 2014. We are going on a summer holiday. Well, maybe not summer, but it was warm(ish) today, so Qrazy Quail went on their holiday in the garden! We bought a Fellside Animal Pen from Charlecote Pet shop, and we put it around a currant bush. Netting which came with the pen wasn't big enough to cover over the bush, so we used a different net.

Well I had a busy month with 2 AGMs to attend! I had to re-stock my moths and create new butterflies, and most excitingly, I made a new game,. It's a "Sudoku" on an A4 board with magnetic bits and you use moths and butterflies instead of numbers. I had this idea for a while, but it took me quite a long time to decide what materials to use. Well it's here now! It's £13 per Lepidoku. At the AGMs, I had a bigger version to demonstrate. Quite few people had a go but only got properly completed once!

Since most of my fake moths were sold at the Moths Recorders' meeting in January (Thank you very very much! I have made some new species, ready for Garden Moth Scheme Annual Conference. Silver-striped Hawkmoth, Burnished Brass, and Clifden Nonpareil. And of course, here are new species for badges and magnets. Canary Shouldered Thorn and Purple Thorn. New moths and butterflies.and a caterpillar! It's January and I see a caterpillar! It's a Puss Moth Caterpillar - my favourite! Of course, he's a fake caterpillar, and going to go in a picture frame. Here are the framed Clearwings. I have also made framed Buff-tip and Death's dead hawk moth a few months ago. And new species for badges / magnets! Pearl bordered fritillary (re-made), Duke of burgundy, Wood white, Rannoch Brindled Beauty, and Vestal (4 variations). Hornet Clearwing ( Sesia apiformis).
