The recommendations of this Commission are likely to be implemented w. e. f. 01 January 2016. It will benefit about fifty lakh Central Government Employees and about 30 lakh pensioners. The fourth Pay Commission was implemented with effect from 01 January 1986, the fifth from 01 January 1996 and the sixth from 01 January 2006.
