Thursday, June 28, 2007. Back from the Chihuahuan Desert. Or Texas Madrone. I think it is one of the most beautiful trees I've ever seen. Here is a photo that doesn't do it justice. It is hard to say what the highlight was, but perhaps it was the hike to the South Rim, considered the best view in Texas. On a good day, one can see 200 miles into Mexico.
