April | 2015 | Extreme Knitting
https://extremeknitting.wordpress.com/2015/04
Monthly Archives: April 2015. I’m glad I went to Morris practice. It was a frazzling day, and I didn’t have much energy (and the quantity of brain that I brought along was even less. I forgot dances I’ve known for 10 years. Utterly shocking! All in all, it was much better going than hiding at home under the blankets. So I’m glad I made the effort. Very often, this is the case. April 29, 2015. Such a lovely evening. One of my former Guides, now a fine upstanding member of the Sea Cadets said the loveliest...
April | 2014 | Extreme Knitting
https://extremeknitting.wordpress.com/2014/04
Monthly Archives: April 2014. But, isn’t that always the case? Not quite, but nearly. The laundry is under control. The sitting room bears a semblance of tidiness. I’ve been to Parkrun for the first time in. And just poddled round. My trail shoes are falling to pieces despite only being 225 miles old (my street trainers, by comparison, are 300 miles old and still look pretty spiffy. They’ll need replacing in a couple of months, though). April 27, 2014. Finally, I’m home. To say the least, given that she&...
July | 2015 | Extreme Knitting
https://extremeknitting.wordpress.com/2015/07
Monthly Archives: July 2015. Most days, running past the zoo, I see camels. Occasionally, a tiger. More rarely, the tapir. Today, for the first time ever, two meerkats were sitting up and taking notice! July 30, 2015. Running. Running. Running. Does he not grasp that I’m married and that this is Not Appropriate Behaviour? I’m not sure we’re going to make it to enough Proms for Last Night tickets. We’ve been to one so far (and bailed at half time because, yes, I was falling asleep). The flat is still reas...
March | 2015 | Extreme Knitting
https://extremeknitting.wordpress.com/2015/03
Monthly Archives: March 2015. And we are done. Wicked headwind, rain, hail, lambs cavorting at 8.5miles and N doing similar to restore my lost equanimity at same point. I lost a lot of energy fighting the wind, and thus we were slow. But there was no stitch, no walking, no giving up and a nice cuppa tea and a slice of cake at the end. So we’ll call that a win and would do it again as it was a nice route. Very much looking forward to a lie in soon! I’ve had one all month…. Worth it though. #thisgirlcan.
June | 2015 | Extreme Knitting
https://extremeknitting.wordpress.com/2015/06
Monthly Archives: June 2015. The last two weekends have been grand fun, very amusing, and insightful. Lovely K got married on 20th June. The protests about the anti-austerity march conspired to make the bride extremely late, but she looked utterly lovely when she did get there (and her hair mostly stayed put throughout a somewhat sticky day. All Hail Elnett! The aftermath of the downpour would have been. June 29, 2015. There’s been a lot more running. Yesterday’s run was also faintly disastrous....

It will all be fine. Friday, July 24, 2015. Some days I feel cursed. Thursday, July 02, 2015. Life is good here. Summer means long evenings on the back porch, meals made of whatever can be concocted from what's in the refrigerator, and a general laziness that suits my nature. Projects get postponed until winter when we will have to be stuck in the house (at which point they get postponed again because wouldn't summer be a much better time to do all this work? What kind of flower is this? The important th...

It will all be fine. Thursday, January 29, 2015. To see if Ellen has checked in from the Cape. Ellen, if you read this, please let us know how you fared. Saturday, January 24, 2015. I keep having to remind myself that today is NOT Sunday. She was in Tampa helping a grandchild with her first baby and had made the quick side trip to the museum. Frida Kahlo: Through the Lens of Nickolas Muray. I'd like to see her work but this will have to do. I thought I'd be a bit sad at losing my "alone time" but I think...

It will all be fine. Friday, July 24, 2015. Some days I feel cursed. Ha Ill bet youve never had cockroaches in your espresso machine! I swear the appliance problems are brought on by the disposable nature of everything these days. Everything sort of works for a little while and then you have to start again with something that costs twice as much. Im angry because I bought a water pic that lasted three months! It will all be fine. Thursday, April 30, 2015. I figured I could provide vegan meals while she is here as many things are vegetable based and I can just leave off the meat course. So, the menu is: Friday night - Spaghetti Squash Primavera (excellent! And one glass of almond milk has minimal protein so it doesn't even have good nutritional value. Just drink a glass of water and you and the earth would be better off. Saturday, April 18, 2015. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). My life in pictures. Charmed lives a...

It will all be fine. Monday, June 01, 2015. I have had a whirlwind couple of weeks which have been just delightful! The retirement party for a very close friend. It was a wonderful celebration where all the family and friends attended and we had tons of food and wonderful weather for lots of outside seating and a real tribute to his career. Chips/dip, beer, wine, soda and some signature punch (lemon based? And cookies for dessert. Easy peasy! Sounds like great fun. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

It will all be fine. A family cookbook I created called "Stuff You Ate as a Child: Family food you may or may not have liked but here's how to make it". This contains both "depression recipes" from my family and Cuban recipes from my husband's. From the Williams Sonoma catalog. Everyone's go-to dish which can be made ahead of time and serve bazillions of people! A chicken and black bean soup that is truly amazing! From Vickie at Part Three. Lemon and Honey Chicken. Cold Green Beans with Lemon Dressing.

It will all be fine. Wednesday, May 20, 2015. jaykaym: What I read
http://jaykaym.blogspot.com/p/what-i-read.html
It will all be fine. I'm going to start keeping better track in 2012. And not be embarased by my enjoyment of "chic lit"! The Draining Lake" by Arnaldur Indridason. The Paris Wife by Paula McLain. Have started reading "Nineteen Minutes" by Judy Picoult. Found it sitting on a shelf at the condo. Update: Read it and found it much better than I anticipated when I first started. Did not try to demonize anyone, well maybe the bullies. Had a realistic ending without having a made-for-TV script ...Finished "Thi...

Actually: sleep in one chunk during the night would be nice. Sleep from 11pm to 6am. In one feel swoop. Please send one chunk of sleep. The same amount of sleep as I seem to get in 24 hours. Just in one go? It would be vastly more convenient. It really would! What a nice birthday present. I think Thing1 has got hiccups. It feels like something’s blowing mud bubbles in there…bloop. Bloop. Blup. Bloop. I rather like 39 so far. Sorry, where was I? Other than sit and hold onto a tissue and pray it stops for ...

Defeating Dementia one step at a time. Tuesday, March 13, 2018. Viking 100 Mile Endurance Challenge done - Boom! Now there's a heading I never dreamt I'd write! I, Susie Hewer, the #oldbiddyattheback, have completed 100 miles all in one go and well within the 32 hour time limit. No, I can't believe it either, but it's true, it's really true. Will definitely turn out to be a very long post! A bit about my preparation. Pounding out the miles. I worked on cycles of 3 weeks hard followed by 1 week of cutting...
