It’s Who You Know. Today I received a phone call from a man that I met at the conference. I’m terrible with names but I actually remembered this guy because we have a mutual acquaintance and he works for a small but interesting biopharmaceutical company very nearby. At the conference we held a decent conversation after which I handed him my card (never underestimate the powers of having a business card, even as a student! I let him know that I graduate in May and will be looking for work. Next: I 3 Beaker.

I started working just a couple of days after finishing up the semester at school. I took up temp work for the holidays at the pharma company where I completed my internship. My schedule is a bit longer, albeit that I have no homework or studying to do when I come home. It’s really great working there, making some extra money, but I’m beat! I find that I don’t have much desire to write after perusing some science articles and reading some random, strange things on the internet (I can get lost!
Adventures in Wonderland | The Extrovert Scientist

Damn you, homophones! It’s Who You Know. On a nice day, you can stay in the air almost indefinitely. Once I had my share of enjoying the vista, we made several attempts at landing but were finally able to come right back to the spot at which we took off. The best part is that it only cost me US$35! I’m already dreaming of my next vacation. Does anyone have any ideas for European travel on a student’s budget? 2 Responses to “Adventures in Wonderland”. Feed for this Entry. On December 11, 2009.

ScientistMother: raising my own little experimentS. Saturday, January 29, 2011. Small Acts of Kindness - Thank you. I'm inspired by Canadian GirlPostdoc. To thank the anonymous skiers who were so wonderfully kind to me yesterday. All day, individuals helped me as they saw me struggle to keep monkey engaged, carrying all the gear. Keeping an eye for monkey's gloves, asking if I needed help. I did not expect this at this mountain. It was refreshing. Tuesday, January 25, 2011. Are we really that surprised?

http://scientistmother.blogspot.com/2011/05/finally-happy-birthday-monkey.html
ScientistMother: raising my own little experimentS. Wednesday, May 18, 2011. Finally, happy Birthday monkey. My Dearest Little Monkey -Boy,. You turned four, oh like 5 months ago and I have not yet written you a birthday letter. If you're getting shafted by 4, your poor little sibling is going to be SOL for attention! Your excitement for the new baby makes me so proud. Watching as you share and take turns with other kids. So caring and generous. How did you become like that? Or where big baba has gone?

ScientistMother: raising my own little experimentS. Wednesday, April 20, 2011. I'm a #SciMom and hear me roar. I got that from Dr.O. So this is mash up of two themes going on in the bloggy world. One about being a mom and a scientist (thanks Janet. For the shout out) and another about being a mom who doesn't really do it al. All because of a dream about my data. These things are important to me. Well monkeys class is over so, theres my ramble.:). Micro Dr. O. April 21, 2011. Ive been musing a lot on the ...

Journal of an Extrovert
Tonight my husband took me to see Julie and Julia. This was after baking me chocolate chip cookies, mind you. He's amazing. The movie has a lot to say about husbands. Both characters have great ones. There were some great moments that made me well up. When they did I would squeeze Rebs hand 3 times which is our code for, I love you. I'd turn to him and he'd look at me with his big brown eyes and smile. And I'd think, he's just as loving and wonderful as these guys but . he's also hot. I'm also sad or may...
