Mr Happy's fight with Cancer. Archive for January, 2010. Sorry about the long silence. January 18, 2010. It’s been so long that I wanted to write a quick post just to let you all know we’re still alive! We will write in more detail later. For now, here’s the summary of the last two months. We have completed 9 out of the 14 chemo cycles and will go in for #10 this week. Zeke continues to amaze us with the way he holds up to these treatments. He is a strong little boy! Happy New Year everyone!

Mr Happy's fight with Cancer. Archive for February, 2010. Revision Surgery done and back in room! February 27, 2010. It’s nice to think that we’re on the other side of this surgery. The primary source of his cancer has now been removed from his body, and he’s got the prosthesis he needs to enjoy his leg again! Thank you again for all of your thoughts and prayers, food, kind messages, and emails. We’ll keep you posted as he progresses and gets his strength back. Surgery Pushed to Sat. February 26, 2010.

Mr Happy's fight with Cancer. Archive for September, 2009. First Chemo Round and A bit more good news. September 22, 2009. We started our first round of Chemo on Wed. 9/16. Arrived at 6:30 am, and checked in to surgery. Ezequiel had his picc line. Removed (which had been inserted so that we could administer IV antibiotics from home) and had a more permanent sub-dermal IV device called a portacath. No cancer spread to bone marrow! 22 lbs, 30 inches. 8 teeth with left upper and lower molars on their way. During this last month:. Picking up a new word everyday and she practices saying it (moon, eye, book, star, no, elmo). She likes to brush her teeth with mom, if I forget to give her a toothbrush she will signal and moan until I hand her one. Knows many of her body parts eyes, tummy, toes, teeth, tongue, hair, and ears. Knows sounds for fish, sheep, lion, monkey, cow, horse. Started going to nursery at church. Had her first kiss.

A few weekends ago we got out of the house at 9:30 on the road for a 3-hour drive passed Hana to the Pools of ‘Ohe’o or Seven Sacred Pools. Thank you for sleeping for most of the drive Estelle! Where has the time gone? She's been out longer than she was in! Another great month though. This past month she:. Crawls on all fours- fast. Started opening cabinets and drawers (First pinched finger too, ouch! Cruises quickly around furniture. Started jumping off edge of pool into water, blows bubbles in pool, doesn't mind getting dunked. Sits on edge of pool and splashes with her feet (she thinks this trick is pretty funny). Thanks Ry-Ry for the encouragement. For your viewing pleasure, I added months 5-8 with pictures! I never think anyone actually checks our blog and then so much time passes. We miss you too! On March 3 she turned 8 months old:. 285 in long (that's 8.5 inches of growth in 8 months! Got her two top teeth. We called her three tooth for most of the month of February. First real cold (Hand, Foot, Mouth Virus = not fun). Started clapping (now she claps when we say "Yay"). Gives big open mouth kisses.

New words every time she speaks. Well over 100. Grabs your finger and takes you where she wants you to go. Less shy about waving and saying hello and goodbye to strangers, always blows a good kiss. Consistently using the potty for two weeks at home with only a handful of accidents (how do I translate that to out of the house? 1 Year Birthday Photo Shoot. We try to take some non-phone photos every month. Here she is after church at the Pukalani Building. The building sits halfway up the volcano Haleakala with a view of the west mountains and the south and north beaches. She's so old now! 215 lbs, 29.75 in tall. Between percentile 50 and 75. Between percentile 50 and 75. Got much better at walking! Sometimes it's still like she's walking on a tightrope but it's better. She can stand and sit without any furniture for assistance.

235 lbs, 30.75 in tall. We go to the swimming pool almost everyday. She is so good at putting her face under, blowing bubbles, and laying on her belly! She even jumps in from standing. We live about 25 steps from the Kihei Aquatic Center. They have an Olympic size pool, another pool, and a kiddie pool complete with a watering tree with free admission.
