Letter from Our Founder. Since the founding of San Francisco Sewing and Quilting Collaborative (SFSQC), its mission and scope has expanded to fill growing needs of the community. Making quilts for those in need has developed into teaching people how to sew and quilt with access to affordable materials. To accomodate the expansion of services and mission, SFSQC is now 3 physical locations QuiltWorks. FabSF has developed into QuiltWorks Closet supporting all the San Francisco children.

Letter from Our Founder. QuiltWorks, a full-service, nonprofit quilting studio, is the heart of the QuiltWorks Collaborative. QuiltWorks gives people a chance to learn new skills, serve those in need, and enjoy the experience of quilting with community. QuiltWorks features a sewing classroom with state-of-the art equipment, four long-arm sewing machines where experienced volunteers finish quilts, and classes for all levels of quilters. Last year alone, QuiltWorks donated more than 2,000 fabric hugs like quilts, pillowcases, and other handcrafted items to hospitals, hospices, women’s shelters, children’s cancer centers, and many other worthy organizations.
