After my lesson with MP today, I was practising on my own in the evening when suddenly I remembered that today was the last day of the auditions for the principal flute job in the MET (the highest paid flute job in the US). then i wondered if that’s the reason my lesson got shifted earlier today – so he could go down and perhaps settle on some issues regarding the candidates or something? And she’s freezing… but adapting to the cold surprisingly fast too. so far all’s good and blessed – had my recital with the toughest program i’ve ever played in my life – leclair, messiaen, taffanel, jolivet, schulhoff, and rachmaninov… and the stupid tune that’s still ringing in my head is from chant de linos. well, it’s officially out of the way!
