The growth of a grown up...
Coming of Age: September 2009
http://fairlyfabulous.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
The growth of a grown up. I Love My City, But. This violence has GOT TO STOP! Yesterday morning I woke up feeling GRAND! As the day wore on though, I learned of the killing of 16 year old Derrion Albert. That happened on my birthday last Thursday (I did not watch the video) and as I kept being informed of his truly horrific death, my mind took a flashback to 2008, where I lost two friends I'd known since before my high school years, one of which I was really close with. (I blogged on it here). If educati...

Coming of Age: Revelation: Forgiveness
http://fairlyfabulous.blogspot.com/2010/05/revelation-forgiveness.html
The growth of a grown up. Who is a God like you, who pardons sin and forgives the transgression of the remnant of his inheritance? You do not stay angry forever but delight to show mercy. You will again have compassion on us; you will tread our sins underfoot and hurl all our iniquities into the depths of the sea" -Micah 7:18-19. But it also doesnt promote any kind of growth or maturity within my perso. So I'm consciously working on my forgiving. Forgiveness. I will work on this.". Even saying it rings a...

Every Seven Years...: Poem #6 of 31 - Gone
http://every7years.blogspot.com/2009/07/poem-6-of-31-gone.html
Looking Back and Thinking Ahead. July 11, 2009. Poem #6 of 31 - Gone. That's the last thing I heard as the door slammed. And life became one bulb dimmer. Sometimes its not until the light goes out,. You realize how fast darkness is. The space between day and dusk,. Dusk and darkness,. Is only a few words long. Spoken out of anger or hurt or some other sort of pain. The speed at which things can change can be surprising. That door slammed and I realized. That a piece of me was walking down that hallway.

Looking Back and Thinking Ahead. July 6, 2009. Sooooo. I've decided that I'm going to do a 30/30 (30 poems in 30 days) challenge for myself. And, of course, I wouldn't be me if I didn't take the rules and bend them to my liking. So here I present the 1st of my 31 (yes, 31) poems. Enjoy! Or don't whatever, lol) Hopefully by day 15 or so, they'll actually be good. Not Always, But. Its not always about what I want. Sometimes its about the reality of the situation. Its not always about me, and my desires.

Every Seven Years...: March 2008
http://every7years.blogspot.com/2008_03_01_archive.html
Looking Back and Thinking Ahead. March 28, 2008. This So Called Life, Pt. 1. After 25, all your friendships go downhill. This, my friends, is a sad fact of life. Twenty-five is that age where people begin to get into ‘real’ adult relationships. These things are to friendships as silver bullets are to werewolves. Especially if the friends we’re talking about are women. Assumption that friendships, once they reach a certain point, no longer require attention and/or nurturing. This one is a well [ researched.

Looking Back and Thinking Ahead. July 8, 2009. Poem #3 of 31 - Leaves. I'm on an effing roll! Sitting under a maple tree in Prospect Park, I daydreamed a poem. It was beautiful, overflowing. Waters gentle caressing piers in the twilight. Full of simile, like. Leaves falling at the speed of sound,. This poem is me. I am under a tree. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Links to this post. July 11, 2009. Poem #7 of 31 - Untitled. This morning, I dreamt of us. Writing love letters to the universe on the dark side of the moon. When night becomes day. They will be hidden to all but the most reflective of souls. Singing to the birds when the Sun rose. Once dawn was done. An orchestra of one.

Looking Back and Thinking Ahead. July 8, 2009. Stef's 31/31 - Bonus Track (lol). I wrote this a while ago, but its one of my faves:. Everytime i say your name. I hurt a little bit less. I take back pieces of me. Between love and hate. My heart has eight pieces. I left your house. That one you can keep. But I still have to put the rest back. What I have now. Is not what i had before. It is at the time. When i am the most broken. That I am best able. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Poem #6 of 31 - Gone.

Anne Boleyn dress update. October 30, 2011 at 8:15 pm ( Costumes. I continued working on my Anne Boleyn dress today. So far I ve finished the bodice. Now I m working on the overskirt, which is exhausting because of all the cutting of big big pieces. I did fork pleats on the first skirt panel like that:. I ll make the rest of the skirt in smaller pleats or I ll gather it, I m not sure yet. This is the skirt, without the hoop, so far:. Anne Boleyn inspired dress. Coming of Age
The growth of a grown up. Something In the Water? I've been sick as a dog since Sunday and I've just returned to work this morning. The symptoms I had ranged from extreme light sensitivity, leaving me unable to drive much less go out the house to nausea to dizziness whenever I stood for longer than 5 seconds. This was weird. I got opinons ranging from having "vertigo". To being pregnant (this I did not find amusing one bit). I even reasoned with myself on Monday night that I had endured a mental brea...
