Thursday, September 5, 2013. Beautiful weather and only 62F at 6am. Had a project to finish that only kept me busy for about a half hour. Looking around and admiring my handy work I decided to treat myself to a bike ride. Once I got everything together, bike shoes and helmet, water bottles and some air in the tires, I was set. Friday, June 21, 2013. Fire on Granite Mountain. Today is the longest day of the year. June 21, 3013. It has been hot but not as hot as some other places, like Phoenix and Tucson. Only thing adding heat to our area is a fire that broke out in the Prescott National Forest, a few miles south west of Prescott. The wind caused it to move quickly to Granite Mt. Thing was, all that smoke came right over my place of residence. By 3pm me and all of Chino Valley were in smoke! I think so, but you never know.

Sunday, March 31, 2013. Took a ride Friday 3/29/2013 and it was one of my scariest rides ever. Let me explain. While I had been waiting for warmer weather to ride in, I did some changes on my bike. Not like crazy stuff or anything, just setting things up the way I wanted them to be. Like new tires and tubes, new cleats for my shoes, clean the chain and rear cog. No biggie right? Tuesday, December 24, 2013. Yesterday, Monday 12-23-2013, I rode for the first time in 3 months! The weather was sunny and it was predicted to be warmer than yesterday. When I checked the temperature around 7:30am it was 24F. It was just above freezing when got started. Rode a few more miles and Brenda, Jim and myself headed back to see if could meet up with Warren, the guy with the flat. We did at the Outer Loop Rd and Reed Rd. I left the operating room with an 8 inch incision on my belly and missing 12.5 inches of my small intestine that was "dead and falling apart".
