A little of what makes my world go around. Another day, another news feature about teaching and learning in England. This morning, we were met by the statistic that 4 in 10 teachers have been physically abused by pupils in the past year. A shocking statistic but not entirely unbelievable. Yet here we are again; another negative against the teaching career. Despite how difficult your day is, there will always be at least a handful of children that make lovely little comments when you least expect them.

The post was by the mother of an autistic child who spent all day at school holding it together before coming home and having a horrendous, full-blown meltdown. It was a post to teachers asking them to think about what they were asking of her child and pleading with them to make her child’s day easier and calmer so that her child didn’t meltdown at home at the end of the day.
