These parties would be too expensive for us to throw, but there’s another kind of sharing system involved that makes it very doable in Surinam. Basically it’s an extension on top of the food sharing, by also exchanging food preparation and other services. It’s highly informal, almost invisible, but subtle social checks and balances make sure that everyone does their share. What does it suggest about the current economic crisis?

Άλλωστε προσφάτως διαπίστωσα πως κάθε ιστορία που μας διάβαζαν ως παιδιά έκρυβε μέσα της μηνύματα που εν τέλει μόνο μεγαλώνοντας αντιλαμβανόμαστε. Θετικά και πανέμορφα.
