Faith & Science: 2007-11-11
http://faithandscience.blogspot.com/2007_11_11_archive.html
This series of postings is from a course I taught at church, and interactions on the KCFS.org site. Saturday, November 17, 2007. Is God outside the universe? Is God the same as the universe? These days, God is imagined to exist in some other dimension - not bound to this universe. Or conversely, like Gaia, to be the earth, or the universe itself. Action. That is what supernatural would look like, right? What about the millions (billions? Of people who say that they have experienced God just that way?
Faith & Science: We've Already Moved Past Biblical Literalism

This series of postings is from a course I taught at church, and interactions on the KCFS.org site. Friday, December 14, 2007. We've Already Moved Past Biblical Literalism. If you believe the earth rotates the sun, then you believe things that science has discovered that contradicts the bible. Do you extend your faith to a flat earth and a sun that moves across the sky? Posted by Greg Myers. How about the gospel of Christ? Is any of that literal? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
Faith & Science: We Need to Believe
http://faithandscience.blogspot.com/2008/03/we-need-to-believe.html
This series of postings is from a course I taught at church, and interactions on the KCFS.org site. Friday, March 21, 2008. We Need to Believe. I heard an interesting quote today: "Fear is a poor counselor.". Science, especially in its articulation of evolution, confronts us with a much different cosmology than the spirit-driven mystery that is the world of faith. For those who hold a religious worldview, faith's bona fides. Science has cracked open that perspective, and lays bare a series of natural pro...

This series of postings is from a course I taught at church, and interactions on the KCFS.org site. Friday, January 25, 2008. Science: Collateral Damage in the Culture War. The world is a scary place, mostly because of some of the people who inhabit it. Then there is accident, famine, sickness and natural disaster. Along comes the the scientific method, with its assumption of methodological naturalism. Actually, implicit in this approach to science is a hypothesis: the natural world can be explained ...
Faith & Science: Not Success, but an Uneasy Marginalization
http://faithandscience.blogspot.com/2010/01/not-success-but-uneasy-marginalization.html
This series of postings is from a course I taught at church, and interactions on the KCFS.org site. Sunday, January 24, 2010. Not Success, but an Uneasy Marginalization. My fear is that what has changed is that a large segment of the population has become marginalized - pulled into home school movements, poisoned. Science by their parents and pastors, where propaganda passes for education, and doctrine for academic freedom and inquiry. What becomes of these children, ghetto- ized. Back to magical thinkin...

A glimpse into my little world. Friday, August 14, 2015. So, the blogs about to get real right now as I explain two different events that happened to me this week. The whole store was 40% off and there was an additional percentage off all clearance items. (If you know me well, you know I don't pay full price for ANYTHING). I feel...

Faith and Science - Exploring the Interplay
EXPLORING THE INTERPLAY OF SCIENCE and FAITH. Arnie Gotfryd, PhD. Are Faith and Science. Faith and Science aren’t trains in collision – they are like trains in series. One picks up where the other leaves off. Classic conflicts are resolved by digging deeper into the issues and clearing up misconceptions. Beyond all that there is an emerging synergy of authentic science and traditional faith that brings us to a deeper understanding of who we are and where the world is heading. Praise for the book.
