Faith, Hope, and Publication: July 2011

http://faithhopeandpublication.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html

Saturday, July 30, 2011. STUDY IN SUMMER: SUDLEY MANOR. A few weeks ago, my family and I were invited to a Summer Supper at Sudley Manor given by my sister-in-law's family. Once we learned the invite included all children and dogs, we packed up the family and headed west toward the Shenandoah Valley, excited to see family we hadn't seen in a while. The pool, hidden in a secret garden, had a beautiful view of the rolling Virginia countryside and the Shenandoah Valley. I got distracted by the amazing view!

Faith, Hope, and Publication: June 2011

http://faithhopeandpublication.blogspot.com/2011_06_01_archive.html

Thursday, June 23, 2011. I've never loved the color orange which is why I gave myself the challenge of studying the color in a season other than autumn. (No pumpkins allowed! There was also the problem of having no literary device to combine with the color other than Willard Espy's poem. The Unrhymable Word: Orange". As a study in enjambments. Two of my favorite girls. I love the color of old bricks. This building dates to the eighteenth century, but in Virginia that's considered modern. The irony here i...

Faith, Hope, and Publication: RECIPE JOURNAL: CHICKEN POT PIES WITH PUFF PASTRY CRUST

http://faithhopeandpublication.blogspot.com/2013/01/recipe-journal-chicken-pot-pies-with.html

Thursday, January 24, 2013. RECIPE JOURNAL: CHICKEN POT PIES WITH PUFF PASTRY CRUST. It's snowing. Not a lot, but enough to delay school, ruin my dog's day, and make my husband happy. Because in this house snow means one thing- Chicken Pot Pies for dinner! CHICKEN POT PIES WITH PUFF PASTRY CRUST. 2 sheets frozen puff pastry dough (I use Pepperidge Farm puff pastry sheets). 1 1/2 cups homemade chicken stock or canned low-sodium chicken broth. 3/4 cup thin sliced carrots (approximately 2 large carrots).

Faith, Hope, and Publication: RECIPE JOURNAL: AUTUMN MINESTRONE

http://faithhopeandpublication.blogspot.com/2012/09/recipe-journal-autumn-minestrone.html

Tuesday, September 11, 2012. RECIPE JOURNAL: AUTUMN MINESTRONE. Back-to-school meetings, PTA boards, church committees, and teacher conferences only mean one thing . . . soup for dinner. Here's a perfect one for the busy days of fall. 2 Tablespoons olive oil. 1 Vidalia onion, chopped. 1 clove garlic, minced. 3 stalks celery, chopped. 1/2 green pepper, chopped. 3 zucchini squash (not peeled), chopped into 1/4 inch dice. 1 can tomato paste. 1 can butter beans. 1 can kidney beans. Salt and pepper to taste.

Faith, Hope, and Publication: May 2011

http://faithhopeandpublication.blogspot.com/2011_05_01_archive.html

Friday, May 27, 2011. TRIP TO WILLIAMS NURSERY. After a week of difficult revisions on my latest manuscript, I found myself blocked, unable to find my way to end. The harder I worked, the less I typed. Finally, my CP and dear friend Christine. Convinced me to leave my kitchen table, grab my kids, and do something fun before the next round of thunderstorms struck. That's when I realized I'd yet to take a trip to Williams Nursery in Sterling, Virginia. While I shopped with my camera, my kids ran free.

The Results of Faith, Hope, and Perseverance

The Results of Faith, Hope, and Perseverance. This year we signed up for a different league of t-ball for Aria than we have done in the past. She gets to be on a team with all girls her age! And the best part is that Daddy is her coach! So far they have only had two practices, but she is already having a blast! I think Daddy is, too. Aria is thrilled to tell people that he is the coach. And having Dad as a coach is proving to be quite effective. So much for the 'T' in t-ball. We brought Jazmine home on S...

Farewell to politics, for now. Life is crazy. Three years ago, I would have told you that I was going to grow up to be a politician or a Fox News anchor, but after running a political blog, going on Fox News, and experiencing what some would call success, I am burned out. Three years ago, I would have also told you that I was going to go to college. Mecklenburg County Local Elections. Thanks, Red Alert Politics! CPAC 2013: Failing the Next Generation. Faith, Hope and Reflections

Faith, Hope and Reflections. All things work together for good, to those who love God and are called according to His good purposes. Good Success vs Bad Success. Is there such a thing of ‘bad success’? It sounds like an oxymoron, like cleaning dirt. Why would anyone come up with such a concept? Does it really matter and what does it mean to have bad success? These are the thoughts that have plagued my mind recently at the start of twenty-seventeen. Bad success can be the promotion at the expense of close...
