Family Farm Living: Upcoming Storm

http://familyfarmlivingblog.blogspot.com/2014/02/upcoming-storm.html

Wednesday, February 12, 2014. Well I'm on the mend after a couple of long druggy days. Feeling better this morning. Still a sore nose ( a little like Rudolph's ). The kiddies are doing well. Hubby is also feeling much better. Tuesday I got all the turkey stock I made put away. Another 20 cups. (Yeah! I made a wonderful turkey and noodles soup. I think that helped me get better quicker. We had a lovely steak dinner, with beef fried Mac and baked potatoes. But we are expecting 35 to 45 cms of snow between ...

Wednesday, February 20, 2013. Pink Eye And Snow Days. The kiddies are sleeping in and I am going to make breakfast burritos for them for breakfast, with smoothies. I think they will enjoy that. :). Tonight we are having a chicken stir fry with honey garlic noodles and fresh bread. I have a mountain of laundry to get caught up on and floors that overly need cleaning. Well I better get on the sausage for the burritos. Take care and enjoy your day. Wednesday, February 20, 2013. Monday, February 18, 2013.

Family Farm Living: September 2013

http://familyfarmlivingblog.blogspot.com/2013_09_01_archive.html

Sunday, September 29, 2013. Busy Weekend and A Little Vinagar. After a ton of rain the sun came out, and we had the most beautiful weekend. High 20's which were very abnormal for this time of year. He also got my meat tray order ready for me. Thanks to Gary for making my life a little bit easier. I was able to get another bushel of apples done up into apple sauce, and we made a homemade pizza for a late supper. Sunday, September 29, 2013. Wednesday, September 25, 2013. Monday I kept the house quite as th...

Family Farm Living: November 2013

http://familyfarmlivingblog.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html

Thursday, November 21, 2013. Well it has been a long few days here on our homestead. Jill got her IPod back safe and sound, and she has found out lesson learned as well. As did I. Mom is still having a lot of confusion, but is a bit better. I tided up a little and got my little carry on bag packed for the morning. HB went to talk to our neighbour down the road to let him know we would be away for the day. I am super excited to get away with my family. Thursday, November 21, 2013. Just what she ordered.

Sunday, March 31, 2013. Easter has came to our barn with the birth of this beautiful black ewe lamb yesterday morning. We could have not thought of a better way to celebrate Easter then this. I wish you all a wonderful Easter weekend with your families. Sunday, March 31, 2013. Saturday, March 23, 2013. Thursday Justin and Jill went back to school and Jayne just could not do it. She stayed home and laid on the couch for the day. We picked up Chinese take out for supper, and headed home. I went to bed ...

Life on 2.68 acres. The rest of our trip. September 3, 2015. The next morning we woke up to a lot of smoke. While I cooked breakfast, Harold started packing up the tent and all of our camping equipment. We got the suburban packed up and then headed out. We went to Challis and stopped for some ice. South of Challis we stopped at Bayhorse, a ghost town that was founded in 1877. It was a nice break to get out and walk around. This building had been sided and roofed with flattened cans. Life on 2.68 acres. It has been awhile. July 25, 2015. We have been enjoying some cooler weather the last couple of weeks. We have been in the 80s most of the time. It has been nice to not be running the swamp cooler all the time. We have been busy with things here at home and getting Josie ready for college. Finally today, we finished all our her shopping that we are helping her with. She still has to buy her textbooks and laptop. About half way up. Close to the top. The hand grips were very hot&#46...

Life on 2.68 acres. June 9, 2015. It is hard to believe that Josie has graduated. She was ready to be done with high school. She started working with Emily at a local produce stand/fields. Right now they are spending their time hoeing corn, and planting some peppers and tomatoes. Today they started at 7:00 and got off at 3:00. It sure helps with the near hundred degrees that we hit today. Emily took this picture of Josie before the ceremony began. May 25, 2015. This afternoon we have been busy doing diff...

Life on 2.68 acres. We try to raise most of the things that we eat. We have a huge garden and an orchard of 14 fruit trees. We have a raspberry patch, a strawberry patch, two blackberry patches, and several grape vines in three different areas of our property. We raise steers, pigs, turkeys, and chickens for meat. We also raise chickens for eggs. We have about 1/2 acre or so of alfalfa for the animals. We let our chickens out in the pasture to roam in the afternoons. Blogs I enjoy reading. Life of a Caver.
