My life with one husband, three kids, three cats, a dog, a chicken and. Multiple Sclerosis. My ramblings about life with MS and all the other stuff. Tuesday, 12 March 2013. Fifty Shades of Grey. This is not a scene from Fifty Shades. Before I start burning my bra, I need to confess that I didn’t totally hate the first book, but by the time I got halfway through book number two I was actually speed-reading through the sex scenes to get back to the important business of imagining what it would be lik...

My life with one husband, three kids, three cats, a dog, a chicken and. Multiple Sclerosis. My ramblings about life with MS and all the other stuff. Monday, 11 February 2013. For illustration purposes only. There was no roll of carpet in my litter dump. So I did what any woman on a bike 5 miles from home would do. I picked it all up (they had thoughtfully left the Tesco carrier bag) and rode home with it swinging from my handlebars. Keep Britain Tidy website. Be a Litter Hero! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

swisslet: rule number two...

52% intelligent. 9% modest. More monkey than bear. Tuesday, 28 July 2015. Fairly early on into my training course for my PADI Open Water diving qualification, I was introduced to the two golden rules that all scuba divers must live by:. 1) Never, ever hold your breath. 2) Always look cool. But you have to admire the chutzpah that sees them attempt to style out their bulging lycra in the face of all taste or good judgement. Honestly. People, eh? Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). 52% intelligent. 9% modest. More monkey than bear. Tuesday, 4 August 2015. Win yourself a cheap tray. The view from the castle. The salad I had for my lunch today had a lovely sticker on it proclaiming “Tastes of the British Isles”. This prompted me to wonder if the UK really did taste of beetroot, lentil and goat’s cheese. After some thought, I decided that I thought that it maybe tasted a bit of beetroot. So that's £3, yeah? One of Tony's excellent pictures from the weekend. A fantastic few days in gre...

Multi-tasking with Multiple Sclerosis in the Midlands. A pin and three needles. End of term report →. Raquo; No news. June 11, 2015. It occurs to me that I am the worst blogger because I keep neglecting to post. This is because the blog is supposed to educate and inform about MS and MS is the least significant aspect of day-to-day life at the moment. And no need because everything seems to be in relatively good working order. This entry was posted in Waffle. And tagged mulitple sclerosis. You are comment...

Multi-tasking with Multiple Sclerosis in the Midlands. Newer posts →. End of term report. July 21, 2015. End of term reportS has had a generally good year with some promising aspects in her development at work and home. There are still some ongoing areas for development which are preventing her from being entirely satisfied with her progress to date. More challenging is parenting during the maelstrom of early-pubescent hormones that seem to have taken over her ten year old. Despite her best efforts S...

Multi-tasking with Multiple Sclerosis in the Midlands. Room for one more? A pin and three needles →. Raquo; Mothering Sunday. March 14, 2015. One of our students was telling me that his mother was excited for his visit home this weekend so she can celebrate her son, the new doctor. And as he was telling me I realised that for many people Mother’s Day is a straightforward day where they go and make a fuss of the woman who loved, supported and raised them. And, on occasion, I felt the urge to run away.

52% intelligent. 9% modest. More monkey than bear. Wednesday, 12 August 2015. Seasons change with the scenery. I’m sad to be the one to break it to you, but winter is coming. We’re barely into August, and already the mornings have a distinctly autumnal feel as I get onto my bike to cycle to work: there’s a nip and dampness to the air that tells me that we’re only a short hop away from woolly jumpers and the smell of bonfires. Is that really the best you can do? 13 August 2015 at 10:05. Don't go to vegas.

52% intelligent. 9% modest. More monkey than bear. Monday, 27 July 2015. Play among the stars. I spent a good part of my Sunday afternoon reading " One Night in June. By Kevin Shannon and Stephen Wright. It was loaned to me a little while ago by mother-in-law before a trip to Normandy that we unfortunately had to cancel. The book tells the story of the British Glider Regiment and their role in Operation Tonga. Of course, in the wider context of the war, this was just one small piece of a much larger stor...

52% intelligent. 9% modest. More monkey than bear. Tuesday, 11 August 2015. On the whole, I reckon that I’ve been pretty lucky with my MS symptoms. Although I was officially diagnosed with relapsing-remitting MS, apart from the moment I first woke up with a numb hand that morning in 2005, I couldn’t honestly tell you that I had ever experienced a definite relapse. For me, it hasn’t quite worked out like that. On the plus side, one of the possible treatments is apparently cannabis……. Make your own badge h...

52% intelligent. 9% modest. More monkey than bear. Wednesday, 5 August 2015. My friend Tony is something of a photography buff, and he took many fantastic photos documenting our time in Scarborough (his wife is in the choir, Tony spent his time wandering around the town taking photos of whatever and whoever took his fancy). Because of his wife’s involvement as a singer, Tony has sort of become the choir’s unofficial photographer, snapping pictures of us as we sing at various concerts. Btw its our wedding...

Our Family
Friday, August 12, 2016. I'm so thankful to God for the provision of a sweet beach trip this summer. We went to Destin in July. This was only our second time to beach with the kids, so they were especially excited I loved that it was so special and out of the ordinary. It meant a lot to all of us! We stopped in Nashville on our way down to Florida and met our nephew, Daniel! He's adorable and the girls' first cousin on the Bailey side of the family. There's nothing like a new squishy baby! She loved the ...
